That would be a very dumb idea. It's better to just report it and let them handle it than to get yourself arrested for assault and perhaps sued by the man.

That guy is in a world of trouble. I travel a lot for work and I'm well aware you're not allowed on a flight with a loaded weapon. It was convenient that the French police had a firm handle with which to haul the guy of the plane with upon landing.

Does pouring cold water on someone meet every element of assault on a law school exam? Probably. In reality no prosecutor will put that before a jury in these circumstances. They would rule unanimously she gets the keys to the city

I assume you read the article?
"the crew saw that...." and told her later about it. Another passenger saw it and moved to another seat. Great help they were.

I take it the guy didn't pull it out and go to town. Had he done that, he most certainly would have been arrested. He must have just been playing pocket pool. And, that certainly is not a crime...just weird.

I'm not sure that it's more prominent, perhaps it's just that technology and the Internet has changed news reporting so much, we hear about things we likely wouldn't have before. More and more people are sharing information on Social Media networks too.

It would appear that way yes. Or was it just covered up and ignored due to embarrassment at making such issues public, I don't know.

with the PC patrol wanting everything "out there and okay" I think certain doors are opened that would otherwise remain closed

is it good for it to be out there

True, there's no denying those things, but still, I can't believe what people choose to share on Social Media, again, that might also be an example of self restraint flagging, and wouldn't such examples are being covered in 'news' media would again be an example of media restraint flagging?
