"We want to make what's intimate, public."

And they're "Christian" in name only...your point?

Ah, "no true Scotsman." I've dispensed with that fallacy many years ago in forums far far away.

Actually the issue mentioned in the OP is quite libertarian.

Libertarianism is a political philosophy. The philosophy itself says nothing about social accepted standards.

It's a live and let live philosophy. Maybe you need a new lean.

Well good for you...

It's a political ideology and as such deals with politics and government. Once again, the philosophy says nothing about socially accepted standards of behavior.

Do you want laws limiting marriage to one man one woman?

Well good for you...

Well...there is no true Christian. They are all Christians. Even if they molest little boys and steal people's money.

I don't think marriage laws should exist in the first place. See how that deals with politics and not social views yet?

Probably anyone that wishes to preserve the innocence of their young children as long as they can.

In the modern world? Good luck with that.

Not according to Jesus and he makes the rules for his followers, not the other way around...

Todays world is the same as its always been. People are still trying to take advantage of those who would let them.

Oppose them because its the right thing to do for you, the future of your family, the future of your country.

It was never going to be easy.

 Yeah, all those laws about continuity of assets and rights to visit in the hospital or power of attorney when one partner becomes incapacitated are rubbish. Every married person should be forced to hire an attorney and put all that stuff in writing.

Ah, and you know what Jesus thinks. Got it.

Maybe Jesus should have conducted the interview for me.

It's been that way since the beginning of time, until recently, and society did just fine...

Ah, and you know what Jesus thinks. Got it.

Sure, it's right there in black and white...you should try reading it sometime...you may learn something...

I have read it. And, I did learn something. That's why I am an atheist.

Why is it that people get along just fine not getting married if these laws are needed?

Why are marriage laws needed? Is there something about society that requires marriage laws?

Well, it's mighty convenient to have my wife on my health insurance and write her expenses off on my taxes. Or, if I die, that she gets the house, 401K and various insurance policies, plus any back-pay, without having to jump through fifteen million hoops.
