what would you do if your 12 yr old daughter kissed a girl?[W:16]

Do you pretend it didn't happen and go to your room and drink and not talk about it (my solution)?
Do you yell at her and demand she never do so again?
Do you ban her from seeing her friend and demand she never talk to her again?
Do you set up camera's in her room?
Do you sit down and talk to her about why she did it?
Do you warn her about God and the fiery pits of hell?

I thank God that I won't have to deal with some boy done the line...

would you ignore it if it were a boy? Cause I wouldn't.
Though I would have an easier time ignoring it if it was with a girl, since I would just assume it's nothing serious

12 year old's can certainly know if they are gay or not...

but other then that, i wouldnt care.

At 12? I guess, I would expect it.

Probably a little of almost all of the above.

It is important to talk to your daughter and tell her about the consequences of gay life. It is no picnic, as many will tell you. For one, she has to deal with people who are extremely unforgiving attitudes who may (or may not) take matters into their own hands. Also, there are certain lies and truths abut the life. People in the LGBT community may concoct a different stories about what it's like. Almost none of them very truthful. All in all, I would rather take charge of the situation and guide her to the trugh.

Interesting. What are these "consequences" of gay life?

What are the lies and truths? Why must we fear those 'taking matters into their own hands'?

I would not mind at all. As far she is not harming anyone or herself, she is free to do whatever she feels conformable, fulfilled and happy.

This person is a troll. No need to respond seriously to their joke threads.

What is the definition of a 'troll'? I've often wondered. Sometimes it seems to mean"someone I don't like" - would you think it acceptable for someone to call you a troll?

I sense that we will never agree on what is, and what is not an advantage or disadvantage of the gay lifestyle but they include:

1. Never having a normal heterosexual relationship.
2. If she wants to marry, she will need to marry outside of her church, and against what God wants.
3. If she wants children, being gay means that she, or her partner, will be out of the picture, as far as blood relationships go. Plus who will seed whom? Will they even know the father?

I find it difficult to come up with advantages.

1 would be an advantage if the person is homosexual.
2 Only if she belongs to a retard chuch and that's easily remedied. And only charlatans think they know what God wants
3 That is the only disadvantage you listed.

1. In your view, maybe it's an advantage. And since you think it's true, please explain to me how!
2. Insulting a church doesn't make it wrong, or retard. Maybe you have enough proof to shake my faith.
3. Thanks.

She may get to grow up and be with someone she truly loves which is the greatest advantage anyone can have in life

1)A homosexual being in a heterosexual relationship would obviously be a disadvantage. They are homosexual. It's cruel to the other person and its selfish.
2)I couldn't give any less of a crap about your faith if I tried.
3)You are welcome.

My 15-year-old daughter has declared herself to be pansexual. Of course, she's not dating anyone yet but that's her viewpoint on things right now.

1. Never having a normal heterosexual relationship.

Why is that a disadvantage? If she's in a happy, loving relationship, with another person, why is that bad? It would actually be a disadvantage for her to be in a heterosexual relationship, because they would go through life not being attracted to their SO, and just hiding their true feelings, simply because there are those in society that view homosexuality as immoral.

Me personally, I could never be in a heterosexual relationship. I just can't. I couldn't lie to someone like that, and act like I like them. I'm quite happy in the same-sex relationship that I am in now.

2. If she wants to marry, she will need to marry outside of her church, and against what God wants.

Not true. And she would need to do is find a church that's accepting of homosexuality, and there are plenty of those out there.

3. If she wants children, being gay means that she, or her partner, will be out of the picture, as far as blood relationships go. Plus who will seed whom? Will they even know the father?

I guess that could be a disadvantage, if they wanted to have kids together. But there are ways to compensate for that.

Me personally, I don't give a **** if it's my blood or not. I'm thinking years in advance right now, but if I ever decide to want a kid, I think I want to adopt one.

The same thing I would do if my 12 yr old child kissed a 12 yr old child of the opposite sex.

Nothing.

Funnily enough, my first kiss was at 12, with a 12 yr old boy in our church youth group...in the church kitchen.

Re: what would you do if your 12 yr old daughter kissed a girl?

If they're actually emotional then it's time to talk to her about relationships.

I think it's a little odd that the OP presumed many parents hadnt already addressed this sort of thing with their kids, boys or girls.

12 is junior high, when they really start addressing reproduction and safe sex with kids. They did when I was in JR high in the 70s. Seems like most parents would want to share their expectations and perspectives with kids as they become adolescents as well.

Good to see you, Lursa! :2wave:

That's exactly what went through my head first...

Same thing you do any time something out of the ordinary happens.

Talk about it.
