Men should take slander and generalizations without protest.

Women who take advantage are complaining now when men take and live the Franklin covenant to be never alone with a woman in a closed-door room not his wife.

They say professionally they are being denied the time they need for professional counseling like men receive with men.

Tough, ladies, this is your doing.

I spent many years in the military and in a professional career and not once was I ever in a closed-door room alone with a woman not my wife.

Didn't hurt my career, and not really too concerned with women who complain it hurt theirs.

If Free Alternative Media can hold on for 10 more years, the attitude will change. Free Alternative Media means equal right to be offensive.

Men can protest, but it's kinda like some dude with allergies complaining about how rough his problem are while sitting with a bunch of cancer patients in the cancer ward at the hospital.

In Saudi Arabia perhaps. Not in the United States.

Crybaby men yet again. Those that recognize there are issues regarding how men can and are treated poorly, and talk about it, are sexist misogynist whiners.

Which 'men' are we talking about? Black men? Indians? Latinos? All men?

And help me out...where are these legions of oppressed women hiding out?

True or false?

Throughout history men have dominantly ruled the world and society in general.
Throughout history, until recently women have been second class citizens at best in most societies.
Throughout history, until recently women have been subjugated and oppressed.
Throughout history, men have been responsible for almost 100% of all wars.
Throughout history, men have been responsible for the vast majority of ALL crime.
Throughout history, the population of men in prisons has far and away outnumbered the population of women in prisons.
Throughout history, genocide has been carried out by men.
Throughout history, men have been FAR more violent an aggressive.

If you could separate all men, from all women, and put them on equally stable and resourced planets, which planet would be the safest to live on?

Who is more nurturing? Men or women?
Who is more violent? Men or women?

If you had to leave your young children, and you had both a girl and a boy child, in the care of a group of total strangers, would you pick a group of ladies or a group of men?
Which group of adults (total strangers) would you think could take better care of your children?

Men have invented almost all technology -- even now when women have equal opportunities.

Since 1776, men starting with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson built a Democratic Society. Under egalitarian values, which democratic society held, making hateful generalizations about a birth group was unacceptable. Until gender feminists made it acceptable.

Women who make hateful generalizations about men are parasites destroying their host.

Wow...the stupid in your premise.

Based on your definitions, if men and women were on separate planets all women would be cowering in the corner because there would be no men to kill the spiders. You would die of starvation because there would be no men to open jars. Or build shelters. Or create industry. Because based on your premise all the women would be good for would be having and nurturing babies.

Throughout history, men and women have adopted 'traditional' roles. Men are better suited for some, women in others. You like to delineate the sexes and characteristics, but what happens in a female dominated world like...say...a prison. Do women become loving, nurturing, caring...do they promote rehabilitation because of their capacity for love? No...they become as cliquish, clannish, and violent as men...maybe more so.

Yes...'men' have traditionally been in the leadership roles in the world. Therefore those men are likely to make the command decisions which have led to war and in some cases repression. but you have to be the worlds biggest fool to believe that were roles reversed women would behave in the same manner.

But lets look at why your whole stupid premise is flawed. You fall into the ridiculous feminist mindtrap of willful bigotry. "Men" are really no different than "women." Some men especially those that are in for whatever reason a nurturing role are every bit as loving caring and nurturing as women and in many of those cases where the woman is out in the work force, especially in a professional capacity, they are as political, dominant, aggressive, and brutal as men. SOME men have been in positions of power but MOST men are hard working, caring providers of families. Scratch that...that USED to be the case. Today...there are a large number of 'men' that have embraced a feminist ideology. Those 'men' dont have much by way of identity...because they have allowed bitter shrill angry, hate filled self loathing harpies to define for them what they should be. The results are as ugly and sad as you could imagine.

I find the greatest irony in your last few statements.

If you had to leave your young children, and you had both a girl and a boy child, in the care of a group of total strangers, would you pick a group of ladies or a group of men?
Which group of adults (total strangers) would you think could take better care of your children?

Gosh...its almost...ALMOST like you are openly advocating for the time honored roles of stay at home moms everywhere. And in our family situation, thats pretty accurate. In fact...from the time we decided to date seriously and discuss what our roles and relatedness would be, my wife made it clear. She expected to have children and to raise them. She expected me to bust my ass and provide for the family. We both embraced our role and she WAS INDEED far more loving, caring, and nurturing than I ever could have been. And then...when our youngest went to school full time, she went back to college (her choice) she went on to get her graduate degrees and teaches at two universities. She is brilliant, gifted, and capable. Gosh...you would almost suggest she wasnt even oppressed....just like the many other millions of women that have done the exact same thing.

I consider myself a feminist but its very hard to not get defense when women make generalizations like this and then dismiss your response by saying "Ugh, you are one of those #NotAllMen guys...". I like to discuss power and oppression from the Foucaultian view, the misogyny is but one of many forms of oppression and discipline that are working in tandem and also competing with each other. IMO, Not all men have the capability to oppress women. Not all men choose to utilize their capability to oppress even though they could. There are still a number of cultural ideas that we still have that adversely affect both genders, but women more significantly, but these are perpetuated by men AND women. My feminist friends like to say that "All men benefit from the patriarchy." which is likely true in 99% of cases, but I'm sure there are exceptions. But that doesn't mean our society's power structure is an oil and water dichotomy. Some men are HARMED by the patriarchy. Some women benefit from the patriarchy and most women are harmed by it. Ignoring these facts by making sweeping generalizations and attempting to spread blame for the perpetuation of this system on men as a gender encourages defensiveness because of its irrationality and also ignores women's role in the same thing, but trying to say this to someone who has been taught that the words Not all men should never be uttered and any breach of this deserves immediate condemnation is quite difficult.

I do not like generalizations, but I will make one. If men have a collective fault, it is the fact that far too few men are defensive of reputation of men as a gender. If similar generalizations were made about any other birth group there would be massive outrage. Male bashing and negative generalizations of men are common -- and male complacency is partly at fault. Now both men and women have low opinion of men as a class.

Men can protest, but it's kinda like some dude with allergies complaining about how rough his problem are while sitting with a bunch of cancer patients in the cancer ward at the hospital.

How about you explain how women have it worse then men. Here is a short list off the top of my head why you are wrong:

1. Men get mutilated at birth at around 50% of the time and it is completely legal to do.

2. Women can give their child up after birth without even telling the man it happened. I bet its real fun to learn you are a father and already lost your parental rights due to the mother giving the child up without your consent.

3. Unmarried men many times can't get parental rights at all simply because they can't prove themselves worthy. You know, because being the biological dad just isn't good enough!

4. Men get more time for the same crime.

5. Men have no choice after birth, while interesting enough women STILL do.

Quite literally government set up entire systems to make men the bitches of women or to ignore the rights of men in favor of women. Need examples?

Child support
Alimony
Safe Haven laws.

What is even better is that all of those are from different eras in time.

What problems do women face again? Oh right, they can't get birth control for free. You know, because taxpayers don't pay for PP that provides it for free. /sarcasm

Generalizations are everywhere. The best thing to do about it is not give a crap. I don't know why so many people search the internet for random blogs that trigger them, but it can't be a healthy practice. My advice is to take a deep breath and live your own life. Don't let others get in your head.

Actually history shows that female leaders are more willing to enter into violent conflicts than their male counterparts. Review the history of queens and you will see that queens were involved in more wars than kings. If those numbers are any indication then if the situation was reversed and women made up the majority of rulers throughout history there likely would have been more war, not less. Anyway, domination works on power and since most men are bigger and stronger than most women it follows they would be in charge more often. Though saying that, there is evidence that if you were to control for domination tendencies that males would still be seen as the preferred leaders like they are in plenty of species.

Also, testosterone makes men less capable as parents, which is why nature actually lowers the testosterone rates of men around children regularly. It doesn't make up the difference of course, but it does make them more capable of getting connected with the child.

The fun here is in watching some highly sensitive "men" wet themselves over the concept that "men" might not be the greatest friggin being to ever grace the heavens and the Earth.

To suggest that, at the very least, women are equally as great really threatens the very core of their identity.

Well, if that's your idea of fun, I'm sure the gents in this thread will provide you with endless entertainment...hehe... Enjoy!

Generalization suck. Not all men suck, some do, but not all of them. I didn't think this was a thread about sexual orientation.

I think if people REALLY wanted to do something about women being second class, they'd start in the Middle East and not just talk about it in America just to get social justice points.

They are equal in most things, but not in all things. Now before you get offended let it be known that women are better than men in certain areas too. It's silly nonsense to say both sexes are equally great to the other.

I am 100% OK if women have Freedom of Offensive Speech as long as men have Freedom of Offensive Speech.

Everyone has "Freedom of Offensive Speech", there's no right to not be offended.
