There's an awful lot of BS talked (mainly by men, it has to be said) about how sexism isn't as prevalent as it is made out to be. I give you today's (Sunday) front page coverage of a vital political discussion between two national leaders.

Even Nancy Reagan commented on the silliness of sexism back in the day when she was First Lady.

She and Ronnie met with Kruschev or someone and his wife. Media reports were so superficial about the women, noting who wore what, but also implying that the two wives were battling each other over who could dress snazzier or something. Nancy commented on the media articles about their clothing, saying something like, "All these important matters to write about, and they talk about what we were wearing and who dressed better and that we were having a battle of sorts. Silly."

And that's the way it is with women and men. The men still see the women as shallow, sex objects, and mainly useful for their appearance, even when they are leaders discussing international events that affect the lives of billions of people.

Are you telling me Alex Jones was lying when he said that feminists are the sexist ones and that feminism is a movement owned by the CIA to control our minds?

Not really. Men get blasted for talking about a woman's legs and women don't even get noticed when they call for the death of all men.

Yes they do. Feminists get mocked all the time. Maybe not in msm, but that's getting less and less relevant all the time as alternative media becomes more and more popular.

Yes, they get blasted on Youtube and the sort where men can say things under a username, but anywhere else they can basically say whatever the **** they feel like without concern of criticism.

Also, a lot of anti-SJWs have a significant reason to be concerned about criticism, either in the form of being doxxed or in their channel being damaged & impacting their livelihood in the case of people who make a living off of their content. Then again, so do many feminists of YouTube, such as Lacy Green and that Milo kiddo.

I'm not sure how much you're joking. I think it is a quasi-good thing that our society has examples of discrimination against both genders. In an imperfect society, that's a requirement in pursuit of the goal of equality. Those examples aren't good, but the fact that our society allowed/created them is a good sign.

But in all honesty, i want people to stop claiming that sexism [against women] is gone. It isn't. It's still here, it's just camouflaged.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not certain how much of what I say is a joke either. Regardless, I find it's always important to take a look at the bright side every once and a while, and sexism against women is down a great deal, especially in the place it matters - job opportunity. Sure, they still get sexualized fairly frequently, but that's more an aspect of us men being horny gits. I don't think that'll ever go away completely, just as there will always be women who sexualize men and there will always be people of both genders who want... well, sex. But the important thing is that economic freedom is a viable and achievable option now.

That's true but you also have their penetration into the power roles of society. When you look at congress, the US has relatively low representation of women. We can speculate on the causes; whether it's less pursuit (society subtly pushes them toward other careers) or less achievement (society generally views them through a harsher lens), i'd argue both to varying degrees, but in any case, we have good reason to believe that society treats the genders differently.

There are some women who get up there, sure, but they might have to work harder to get there. Realistically, there will be always some aspect of sexism in society, but we strive to be be fair across gender.

My argument has little do with sexism, but more with human nature and how people work to dominate.

This is true. Cultural shifts, however, cannot be legislated (morally). Any social change in how women are treated will be incredibly hard to change by any kind of forcible compulsion, and is likely to cause backlash, and potentially even regression. In the meantime, I'm satisfied with my own conduct, and I'm satisfied that the laws as written are fair.

Cultural shifts. If the government didn't act to force people to accept women doing certain things it likely would have taken much longer to happen.

That's... well, kinda dumb. The governments where women have equal rights are almost universally representative democracies or republics. If people didn't want women to have more legal rights, then they wouldn't have voted for people who supported it. In America, there were 15 states where women had full voting rights when the 19th amendment was passed.
