You're transphobic if you aren't bisexual.[W:113]

Re: You're transphobic if you aren't bisexual.

As far as I know it's fringe feminism and LGBT stuff, and I usually only see it talked about in that crazy attempt at detail by youth. I think with the advent of youtube/internet, we routinely hear stuff from kids that make adults cringe...that's always been the case, they just have a bigger podium now.

The point they try to make is a fantasy about western imperialism and how its all bad, etc. But the reality is that we are just animals in nature with a lot of genetic and instinctual survival adaptations, and a long history of cultural adaptations and traditions that help us function as a society.

Associating gender with genitals...I'm thinking that's pretty normal in biology as a science, not just "western imperialistic culture".

It's like, who are they trying to sway with this stuff? Hardcore right wingers? Or moderates, who already try not to see or care about race, gender, etc., but certainly don't fixate on it? It pushes right wingers away, and moderates already don't oppose LGBT rights, so what are they doing? I think in that respect, it's an ideology like many others, that is attention seeking and has a certain appeal on the surface level with all its in-crowed language and teachings, very cult-like. No different than hardcore libertarian ideology in that respect :p

Living in a liberal arts college town, I am exposed to a lot of this stuff, especially on my FB page. Crazy stuff, from we must end capitalism and property rights to only white people can be racist and straights, bigots. It certainly is off-putting.

I do, however, write it off to youth. Basically, the naivete of the young who have not lived enough of a life on their own dime to have a ****ing clue. Give them a few years, a couple kids, a mortgage and mutual funds, and they will be just like their parents. Or, as the babyboomers have shown us, worse.

Re: You're transphobic if you aren't bisexual.

Whoa...I think we are screwed as a society. This type of thing isn't too much on the fringe for the left anymore, and it's growing. I know a few smart and normally what I would call rational people, who are on the left, and they buy into this type of thing on a smaller scale.

Idiots on YouTube aren't a sign of a screwed society.

The election of Trump is however.

That too and hat we had a choice between Hillary and Trump and nominally Johnson and Stein. However, like I stated, I personally know some smart, educated, and normally rational lefties that buy into this same exact thing on a smaller scale.

Re: You're transphobic if you aren't bisexual.

Riley makes some of the most mind-bogglingly stupid videos. His (and I'm not being transphobic, he says he identifies as a woman yet goes by him/he pronouns, which makes no goddamn sense) videos are really only useful to point and laugh at, since his arguments are totally ridiculous.

This.

If I were NOT with my wife, and were seeking romantic or just plain physical companionship, I'd be upfront with any potential partners. That's the real solution.

Re: You're transphobic if you aren't bisexual.

Apparently, if you're a dude that likes vagina, and you won't consider having sex with a girl with a penis, or a girl who likes penis and not men with vaginas (or the various gay matchups) you're transphobic.

Hey...I'll call them their preferred gender and chosen name but this doesn't make sense. So what are the thoughts on this? Also, are you gay if you are say, a dude that has sex with a transman that has a vagina or if you have sex with a girl with a penis?

I'm not transphobic. I'm psychological problems allergic.

Re: You're transphobic if you aren't bisexual.

As a gay guy, its very disappointing to enter a gay clubs mens room, to stand at the urinal and find a dress next to me. I always ask for the cover charge to be refunded in such situations.

At some point these arguments just start to get lost. While I'm quite sympathetic to transgender rights and have defended transgender people, particularly over these stupid bathroom rules, but at the same time there's a rather bizarre culture that has been created through social media. Some of which is interesting, thoughtful, and worthy of attention; some of it is a giant echo chamber filled with extremely internal logic, their own phraseology, and odd notions of ethics.

Re: You're transphobic if you aren't bisexual.

Actually you have just advertised that yours is a phobia. By making your statement you show that you do not know just how science is explaining gender differences. You are doing nothing more than giving very bad reasons, hence a phobia.

phobia: an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.

Re: You're transphobic if you aren't bisexual.

That dude in the video is an example of MTF that doesn't pass, but not all MTF fail to pass. If you find yourself attracted to someone that passes quite well there is nothing to be ashamed of. However, going forward with a realtionship when you know the facts is more than little ****ed up for someone that claims to be straight.

If they have a vagina and tits i don't know why on earth you'd care what the chromosomes are, unless you want biological kids

It's an inverted dick, not a vagina. Why would I want to stick my dick in another dick? That's not even counting the so called clitoris on those things is actually the head of the penis. :/ Excuse the hell out of me if I don't want to have sex with a dude with that inverted his dick. I guess according to you my standards are too high. :lamo

Don't know if this has already been pointed out, but Riley Dennis is what some people like to refer to as "transtrenders." Riley has gone on the record saying that he doesn't want to get any kind of surgery or take any kind of hormone replacers. On top of that, he says he is a "lesbian." I personally think he's an inexplicably dedicated troll, after all the ludicrous stuff he's said.

Well..ok. That's interesting. :lamo

Relax, we're fine. Don't be melodramatic, it's just a handful of people on YouTube making videos that everyone disagrees with. Check the likes/dislikes on any number of these videos sometime, it's quite telling.

Yep. Interesting. Also, as TheGoverness has already pointed out, he still uses masculine pronouns, while claiming to be a TRANSgender with no interest in TRANSitioning and thinks of himself as a lesbian while calling for people to stop discriminating against potential sexual partners based on their genitalia. Sounds like a troll to me.

Didn't you post this video before?

I think people read into it a lot of things it wasn't saying. It wasn't claiming that having preferences is a necessarily good or a necessarily bad thing.

This.

IMO, upfront is the best policy for everybody. Why would someone who is trans* want to waste their time with someone who doesn't like who they are? They can't just lie about it forever, that's not fair to either one of them.

They actually can lie forever and do in some cases. There is guys out there right now dating or married to a transgender and not even aware of it. Will they ever find out? Maybe, but it's entirely possible they don't.

you really shouldn't comment about things you're clueless on. There are medical videos out there...They cut off the penis entirely so no

this is the problem with transphobes and homophobes - fixating on the way things *used* to be and "should" be, not what they are

Do you think the penis is not used to make the so called vagina? Where exactly do you think they get the materials? Oh and btw, I watched one of those videos once, but it was pretty disgusting so I stopped.

Oh and no, a man made vagina is not a vagina. Do you know why doctors can tell them apart? Maybe because they're not real vaginas.

And I love how I'm a transphobe because I'm a straight guy that doesn't want to have sex with a dude. :lamo

How is it not fair to the transgender to get what they want?

Same reason someone wouldn't come as gay immediately when meeting someone - awkwardness and fear of disapproval off the bat and then not wanting to lose someone you get closed to. But yeah, they could potentially hide it long term....Starting to sound like jerry springer though

They're looking to date the person. Duh. If you're not willing to tell the person you want to date upfront that you're a transgender then maybe you shouldn't be looking to date.

How does it feel to support a surgery that can lead to people being deceived for decades on end? Care to tell me how supporting a surgery capable of that is a moral position?

What's your opinion on cosmetic plastic surgery as a whole?
