Defiant Girl

What's "PC" about the idea that:

#1) women matter
#2) women are important
#3) everything being owned/run only by white men isn't the smartest path forward
#4) it's wrong to ignore a significant part of the population

Dumbest post of the day, hand's down. On a bright note, it's early yet.

Women and minorities are always ignored! You know, with government constantly pandering to them and all.

And who said women aren't important? Sandwiches don't make themselves, you know.

Wow ... what really bothers me is that some people who have little Girls think this is stupid.

That's where the problem starts ... with ignorant parents.

We raised our girls to be strong and self-sufficient. I have no problem with it.

I'd feel better if there were a little boy holding her hand.

White men = more than 2/3

And you think this is that way because of some set of rules? Or that it's something government can fix? Or that it's something more awareness will fix?

Minorities don't occupy the top spots due to cultural issues. Fix ghetto rap culture, and you fix some of that. How many minorities attend and graduate a 4 year college, compared to whites? Now how about 7 years of college?

As for women...they actually do have a bit of issues to work through. Statistically, male AND female workers respond better to male bosses. Where a male boss is seen as strong, or firm, a female is seen as being a bitch. That sorta thing. And that's a problem. But it's not gonna get fixed with the girls...that's gotta get fixed with the boys. Then you have the issue of desire and drive. Not saying women don't want the top jobs, but there are portions of most women's lives in which they want something else more. Biology. So they tend to drop out of the race for a bit. And their male understudy steps in on her rung, and ascends.

Interesting. so to show that "women matter, are important, white men are evil, and women are ignored" we put a little girl statue standing defiantly in front of a bull that's about to maul whatever is in front of it. A statue put there by a firm, who is owned, by ... wait for it... Evil white men.

I don't get it.

Bread and circuses.. The reality of this, is it's nothing more than the furtherance of division of identity politics. IF the firm of evil white men were serious, they would hire more women, not put a statute of a child in front of a bull to get others to.

I teach my little girl not to stand in front of angry raging livestock.

Your parenting may be different.

But, but..we must endeavour to positively discriminate, so as to instill a false narrative, based on rejecting meritocracy for the sake of unfounded contention, voiced by a diminutive, unrepresentative, fringe element.

That's the ticket, kids. Who needs excellence, when there's artificiality at stake?

I for one applaud Defiant Girl. Never mind that there's nothing to defy. She's defiant, and that's the important thing.

White men = more than 2/3

Your statement was that "white men own EVERYTHING." That's 100%, all, the whole kit and caboodle, everything...not 69% of "the board seats on the Fortune 500."

Now, how about presenting the facts on how many women are involved at all levels of employment in each and every business endeavor in the USA showing where in every business they are under-represented and men universally dominate? :coffeepap:

The other issue I have is with the statue itself. The "art" doesn't match the bull. They don't look like they are from the same "universe" if you will. It's disjointed.

Oh boy was I correct....look how much fun this is. All the guys getting all bent and twisted over this.

One little girl can make you all about piss yourself. :lamo

There Are Now More Fortune 500 Companies With All-Male Boards Than In 2015 | Fortune.com

Things look slightly better when you focus on the overall percentage of Fortune 500 board seats occupied by women: 21%, vs. 19.6% in 2015. The percentage of companies with just one female board member is down, now 22% vs. 28% last year.

chew on this:

Indeed, a 2015 study by McKinsey and Co. found that companies in the top quartile of gender diversity are 15% more likely to financial outperform those in the bottom quartile, and a 2014 Catalyst study found that having more women in leadership and board positions resulted in better financial performance while increasing innovation and group performance.

Without knowing the intent of it, I can't really come to any conclusions.

I can think of a lot of really dumb things it could mean.

It means: Know the power of women in leadership. She will make a difference.

Artist even put it in writing in case someone missed it.

Or maybe some of us are just sick and tired of the girl power and constant social movement nonsense. The whole argument here is also just all around ****. People have the right to associate in whatever way they please, period.

That's the problem with much of the PC culture. PC'ers want to take a statement like white men have more ???? than minority or females, then assign the ???? a singular specific reason, which must be immediately fixed. Usually by forcing white men and minorities into a perceived mold. Such is not always the case. Often the priorities are different.

Why a defiant girl is staring down the Wall Street bull - Mar. 7, 2017

I'm sure this'll make a few people here absolutely furious.

Response=Bent and twisted/pissing oneself.

Gotcha.

Your own comments here are, of course, considered, constructive and impartial.

His statistics don't even mean much alone. The overall number of women in upper positions doesn't alone speak towards some kind of injustice. Hell, deciding to not hire women is not even an injustice in the first place since it's just free association.

Fact.

If you have to EXPLAIN your piece, you've failed as a communicate. Communication is the ultimate purpose of all art.

Just to address #4, since the girl is in opposition to the bull, are bulls a significant part of the population as well?

It would depend upon why they weren't hired, of course. To suggest it's because they're female is absurd.

How many successful, professional women must (rightfully) bridle at the notion that they should be awarded and recognised for their gender, as opposed to their achievements? In the end, the Angry Girl Club will be destroyed by women.
