Prostitution.

Having sex for money is like any other business. Some say that it's the oldest business.

So? Something being a business doesn't make it one desirable for society.

No, it's not. It's dangerous for the women. They can not get paid. Get ripped off of the money they have on them. Get beaten, raped and/or killed. That's just what pimps can do to them. Never mind the crazy customers.

And they can get STDs and/or spread them.

No, it's not like most other businesses.

Even the legal brothels do not provide completely safe working conditions. I read about that Bunny Ranch guy. What a sleaze. Like all pimps are. He just dresses it up.

That is often how it starts.

I thought it started with bad childhoods, low self-image and dependency.

The "cool kids" aren't hookers.

What's wrong with encouraging prostitution?

Having sex with strangers can be dangerous to your health.

Going off alone with strangers is dangerous. How many serial killers choose hookers as their victims because they know that they're easy prey?

To be fair, pretty much all the same things are true of women who simply "hook-up" with strange men on a pro-bono basis as well (hence, why we seem to have such a problem with things like sexual assault on college campuses these days). At the very least, however, the vast majority of self-respecting prostitutes are going to insist on their clients using protection, and are going to avoid excessive intoxication, so that they'll have their wits about them. They'll probably even carry some form of weapon for self-defense.

Also, a lot of the problems being listed here as far as prostitutes needing pimps, or being "easy targets" are concerned, only really exist because the enterprise is illegal in the first place, which makes it hard for them to reach out to the proper authorities.

So what? Physicians are twice as likely to commit suicide. Like any other business, there are occupational hazards. Women can not get paid, ripped off, get beat, raped and/or killed in any other illicit business. That risk is probably the best contender for a reason why to legalize prostitution so that it can be like other legitimate businesses.

By the way, I bet pimps can do the same thing to gigolos. Prostitution isn't just for whores. You think women get the crazy customers? Why?

Is there a point here???

It's strictly controlled where I live.

The only difference between most women today and a hooker, is that a hooker is smart enough to get paid for what others are giving away for free. I respect a hooker more because at least she is honest about what she does.

Frankly, I kind of agree. (Obviously, this dependent upon the degree of promiscuity in question, but) At least the hooker is driven by need, or some sort of entrepreneurial intent, not simple bad judgement, and/or screwed up personal priorities.

It's like talking about the difference between someone who grew up on the street, and some spoiled idiot rich kid who purposefully gets in trouble just to show off, thinking that there won't be any consequences. I can't say that I condone either, but I can at least kind of respect the one over the other.

Is there a point to the OP? Is that too complicated?

No, it's the exact opposite of complicated. It's vapid, unlike the OP. "What's the point" is a great question for intellectually lazy people to ask when confronted with something they either cannot explain or cannot bear to talk about. Can't be bothered to think? Just get someone else to do it for you.

So very true. You have to ask what depths a woman has to sink to in order to sell her body for $40 to get a crack rock for $20. Enjoy the 15 minute high it provides, then go back and do it all over again.

Crack is probably the most evil thing brought to society in recent times.

I knew an RN nurse who is now walking the streets for crack, and a male corporate jet pilot who was selling his cellphone and stealing from his mother for CRACK.
I also knew a mom who sold her kids Christmas presents right out from under the tree for crack. Their grandmother bought the kids their presents, and then their mom steals them and sells them.

All this time I thought there was no stronger bond that a mother and child. I learned the bond of crack and the user is even stronger.

That little white rock is pure concentrated evil. For $20 a hit.

Crack cocaine, I've heard, will also destroy your brain. But what about the prostitutes trying to make it through college?

I only knew one. She was smart, and very talented. Worth every penny....$60

Some prostitutes also make $600 to $1000+ dollars a shot, and were working as strippers, making similar money, before hand as well.

They're not all drug addicts.

Just sayin'...

This is one of the oldest jobs in the world. ever since the days of the cave men, women have been selling their bodies for the sake of the men to 'have at it,' and then they keep the dividends for themselves. then, the fathers of these women were selling their daughters since i can think of, and that was all fine and good. hell, even in the bible they quote people as selling their daughters to other people - saying that the religion is against prostitution is a fail, as it clearly supports it as 'just the way it was.'

Then, there is the legal aspect of it - women getting into drugs and then selling their bodies for the sake of getting drugs. this is quite common for hookers, but then so is selling drugs themselves.

Personally, i think some women want to be hookers to look cool or impress their friends. this activity starts in lower school, where girls will get gifts from boys to be their girlfriends. i know at some schools girls get rings from their boy friends and wear all of them after school, seeing it as a status symbol or so. this is not out and out sex, but it leads to dating, and, we know during dates men spend money on their women, or, buy their women. this is similar to escorts, where escorts accompany men in exchange for money and then maybe sex for more money.

So, can we get rid of prostitution? i don't think so. can we tax prostitutes for the sake of welfare? yes, i think so. this activity is unbeatable, and, if we accept it we can make other people's lives better from it, yes?

Next time you buy some woman a bouquet of flowers, are you trying to buy sex?

If I were to send you flowers through FTD, would that make you a prostitute?

Please answer honestly and directly.

The $40 a throw ladies that I messed around with most certainly were.

the upside, is, they were as beautiful as movie stars, but you need to keep your eye on them when they are in your place, and make sure you pay them once you get there. NOT before, when they are in the vehicle.

I had one bounce out at a red light. She was the one I told Margie about, and they made it right.

The most I ever paid was $200, and it was OK, but not all that great.

Mary Jane was the best ever at $60. Quality, looks and being nice.

But there's a huge price difference between $60 and $600, let alone $60 and $1000, much bigger than $60 and $200. High end hookers are also generally referred to as escorts, rather than prostitutes or hookers. People generally talk about only the low end hookers

You are 100% correct. However, if I may get more down to basics.

Once you have them where you want them, and are "getting busy", you can close your eyes and not tell the difference between a $40 - $60 hooker, or a $600 - $1,000 escort. So the kid prefers to stay in the $40 - $60 range.

but all of that foolishness is behind me now. Now I am married and just made her joint on my ENTIRE BANK ACCOUNT.

No, you don't need to say it......:3oops:

I never understood the absurd notion of sanctioning something just because you can't eliminate it. Somehow, relativity eludes the defeatists.

I've never understood the idea of making it illegal to accept money for an activity that is perfectly legal to engage in for free.
