Prince--Gay, Straight or Who Cares?

Depends on your definition. Few people "in the know" were not aware of Mercury's homosexuality. They just did not print it. Prince, OTOH, was extremely tight lipped.
I'm not seeing a whole lot of distinction here. IIRC, whenever asked publicly about it, Mercury steadfastly denied it. In fact, I think he only confirmed it literally the day before he died, but my memory may be fading on that part.

I joked after he died, "Freddie Mercury announced right before he died that he is gay. The whole world responded, 'Dude, we know.'"

People change orientation. You're very closed-minded on this issue.

Changing Sexual Preferences and Orientation After 50 - AARP Everyw...
We already know that exclusively heterosexual women can, in mid-life, develop lesbian feelings and behaviour. This is a well known clinical feature of lesbianism.
It often occurs during marriage or after marriage break-up, with no clinically observable hint of prior existence—not even lesbian fantasy, as reported by the following two therapists.
And we already have studies showing that the overwhelming majority of individuals are bisexual, they just lean towards their respective sides, and some even fluctuate, especially the ones with flexible sexualities, when tends to be on the women's side more than the men's.

You need to read the ****ing article---you're being extremely obstinate, why?--they are talking about women who were lesbian that went hetero and gay men who did the same when they met someone of the opposite sex who they fell in love with.

But that article very much proves my point. People can fluctuate to what gender they are attracted to, especially when it comes to women.

Why do straights have a fascination with who is gay, and who is not?

Ya, but what we cant agree in is to what degree willpower decides, rather than fate.

Maybe because a lot of high-profile gay people and their supporters keep throwing it in everyone's face as if the rest of the world is supposed to be fascinated.

Well scientists still don't know the exact cause of sexual orientation or what causes it to fluctuate, but they believe it is caused by a complex interplay of genetic, hormonal, and environmental influences.

That does not seem like a good enough reason for supposedly straight people, to question ones sexuality.

You said people do not change orientation. In fact, you said it was a fact.

Sounds like you waffle a lot.

I know quite a few supposedly "straight" married men, who play both sides. Women would be shocked to learn just what there husbands get up to lol It's always the married ones haha

'Tis a two-way street. Don't want people to question, then STFU about the whole issue. If you bring it up...

As a gay man, I believe I have just a little more knowledge on the subject than most straight folks, unless of course you are gay? Have I seen you on Grinder? Probably lol

It's usually the ones who scream the loudest who have those deep, longing urges, would that be you?

Oh and no, I wont STFU as you so politely put the phrase.

I see nothing odd about wondering if prince is/was gay or straight. It's not like I know a lot of dudes who are into purple.

Exactly, people don't change sexual orientation. What can happen is that people can fluctuate from being attracted to one gender more than the other. They can change what they identify as under the subsumes of sexual orientation: heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality. These categories are aspects of the more nuanced nature of sexual identity and terminology. What people label themselves does not way affect their sexual orientation.

Someone who spent 30 years as exclusively gay and then falls in love with someone of the opposite sex has changed their orientation. You can't spin it to mean anything else.

Aww did I scare you off. You can respond to my post, I do not believe you can catch the "gay" that way. lol

No they haven't changed their sexual orientation, no matter how much you want to believe that to be the case.

Research over several decades has demonstrated that sexual orientation ranges along a continuum, from exclusive attraction to the opposite sex to exclusive attraction to the same sex. And in some cases, some people can fluctuate between being attracted to the opposite sex more so than the same sex, to being attracted to the same sex more so than the opposite sex.

That's why it's very likely were are all bisexual; we just tend to fall onto our respective sides on either end of the spectrum.

I have a few friends who play both sides, but when it comes to relationships more often than not it's one or the other.

Yes, that's pretty much the same thing with some of my friends as well.

1) It was a generic "you".

2) That's fine. Speak away. Just don't act like a whiny crybaby when people respond. Responding is a natural human reaction when people publicize something... anything.

I was in the restroom. Get over yourself.

You're way too insecure about this.

I simply asked a question

You were the one who got there panties in a bunch

I believe in response to my question you told me to STFU

That I found RUDE, your mother not teach some manners?

Ok.

:2wave:

Yes, that's pretty much the same thing with some of my friends as well.

I am attracted to woman, but would never have a relationship with one, it's not how many of us our wired. Bowie, Jager, and probably Prince did dabble in both, but they would never have a relationship with a man. It's much easier to live as a straight man. Most gay men I know, would prefer to be straight, makes life less complicated.
