Any Dave Ramsey fans here?

I was thinking of buying his Financial Peace University package. Your thoughts and opinions are welcome :)

I've listened to him a fair amount. Not recently but a few years ago. I'm a CPA and former financial advisor, and I thought his advice is solid. It's very basic, but 90% or more of my clients don't do it, so hard to question him giving it out on a regular basis, and most people I've worked with would be far better off following it.

The only thing preventing me from recommending the courses is I'm not sure what they'd tell you that his book don't. I'd at least start there and read one of those for $10-15 or try a used book store if one is nearby.

The bottom line is if you spend the money, and what's quoted is all there is - nothing like, we'll get you ALMOST to the good stuff, then 'grad school' costs another $400 - and you get ANY actually good ideas and follow them, then it'll be worth the money I expect. I listened to Clark Howard in Atlanta for a long time and one show has saved me $1000s over the past 25 years - DO NOT BUY EXTENDED WARRANTIES!! It doesn't take much good advice to recover $130, but the hard part is doing it, being disciplined. He's VERY big on budgeting as I recall, which is great because it forces you and your wife if you're married to prioritize, but you have to do it, then track your spending, hold yourself accountable.

Like I said, I would guess the books are nearly there with the same information, but if you learn better by video or in a class, your choice. :peace
