    Teen Pregnancies-Being Kicked Out

I am doing some legal research on this. If a girl gets pregnant and as a result her parents kick her out of the house and put her out on her own, if she's under 18, can the parents face criminal charges?

A parent kicking a minor out without the minor being declared emancipated is most likely a crime. Doesn't matter the reason the parents have to throw the kid out.

It depends upon each state as to how long a parent has responsibility. Her pregnancy is irrelevant to the question.

I read the article, and it seems to say that abandoning the child is a crime. The article says, it's not legal to drop them off on a street corner and just leave them. That's not legal. Some states to allow child abandonment, but you have to leave the child with state authorities in some way.

If a parent really wants to get rid of a child, I suppose there is a legal way of doing it.
