Solid concur with everyone who's immediate thought is "put my personally identifying information into a random website on the internet just because it has the right name? Nopety nope nope.


So I went and looked at some news sites (example: Equifax Breach: Are You Eligible For A $20,000 Payout?) and they all led to the same place......


and then when I put in, they wanted to mail me a check, vice asking for credit card or account information....


...so I'm assuming it's legit.
 
Yeah, I heard about that on a news story on NPR and thought "well, there's a great way to get my identity stolen." I am, of course, very annoyed that some company that knows my financial history isn't savvy enough to not get hacked, however.
 
Have I mentioned that I'm a Nigerian prince?
