This applies to both my work life and personal life. On my current gig, the micromanagement is so intense on so many levels that getting paid for waiting is the cultural norm. That means that you can go for a walk on company time, you can study to expand your skill set as long as the topic plausibly applies to your tasks for the week. While I watch management prance around and proclaim if "what's his face" doesn't want to do it that way, I'll find someone who can. They are from a Director's level mandating tools that have a thin use base, meaning that finding someone with that experience would be very slow and time consuming. No one is allowed to make a move without a bosses say-so. It's dysfunctional and will eventually be a failure about six months down the road. I plan to stick around for about FIVE more months.

The thing to do it to shut up, chill, enjoy doing EXACTLY as I'm told and WAIT while I wait for the micromanaged instructions. That's some pretty tasty lemonade. In future posts, I will elaborate how this kind of thing is making my personal life more enjoyable.

Sometimes stupidity accrues to your benefit. Let that sleeping dog lie.

Sounds laundery.
