Going to a good Mexican university seems like a really good deal.

Why is #MeToo bullcrap?

Because a lot of the time people have gotten carried away, and it has become an guilty unless proven innocent accept your guilty anyway.

Why is #MeToo bullcrap?

Allegations (sometimes made decades later) =/= evidence. Another fault seems to be the attempt to equate almost any alleged gender bias as being almost as bad as forcible rape.

My sons will soon be going to college. This seems like a really good deal. Not only that, the "safe space" and #MeToo bullcrap isn't there.

Total tuition, fees: $3500 per semester

I would look at Texas Universities first, not necessarily the big ones, but like UT Tyler, or Sam Houston, Stephen F Austin, Ect.
Depending on what he wants to Major in, different schools have different specialties, that they are known for.
I would be concerned about the security risks in Mexico.

A friend of mine's son is going to college in Germany. Tuition is basically free and he was able to find a job that more than pays for his monthly living expenses.

I've considered going to Mexico for medical care though.

That does make it a good deal. For your sons.

For your daughters, you might want to consider Norway instead.

And yeah... unless your kids are trying to get into some kind of strictly licensed field like medicine or... something else... there are very few downsides to sending them to school overseas. Even the countries that don't just pay for tuition... every country on Earth has cheaper tuition than ours and most have better quality.

Do your children speak Spanish? If not how can they study at a Mexican uni?

Also, if money is an issue, you can advise them to go to a community college that offers university transfer courses. I had a few friends from uni who did that, and they told me the courses were easier and the tuition was much lower too.

Mexican university system is a lot like ours. Every school offers Español remediador for foreign students and ones who just didn't do so good in high school.

My kid was required to take foreign language in high school, and in my state every public four year college requires at least two years of high school foreign language for entrance. So new high school grads who have foreign language skills aren't really that rare.

Anyhow, many foreign colleges offer classes in English. The kid that I know who is attending grad school in Germany learned German in HS, but all his classes at the German university he attends are in English.

Mexico is a big country. There are dangerous areas and safe areas. I lived there a couple years and loved it.

I agree: If you are sending your kids to a foreign university, Europe would be a good place.

Mexico is full of friendly people, of course, but if your sons anger a cop, they could be in a whole world of hurt.

Here is one Spanish word they will soon learn: mordida. It means "bite." In other words, a bribe. Of course, there's a sunny side to it: One can often get out of a legal jam by giving a modest mordida.

Because it's a Witch Hunt Crusade were people can't defend themselves because allegations of something happening years or decades prior

That has not been my experience.

I think you are talking about the US in not angering a cop.
