The Camino de Santiago - any advice?

What is the reason for this "pilgrimage"?

A comfortable pair of shoes and a credit card is all you need on that route. It's about as "sissy" as it gets as far as hiking goes.

I did a very modified portion of the trail in October although we did cover almost 20 miles per day.
I live in a mountainous state with challenging hiking - however the El Camino is flat with many services and intriguing villages for over night.
It is a worthy and introspective journey.

I plan to revisit this region again.
I would not think o fit as a hike but a journey.

Yes, I found the hiking pretty straightforward as I live in the mountains and found the going pretty easy. The distance was the challenge for me, and especially for my feet. I couldn't manage 20 miles (32km) a day, more like 20-25km.

Looking fit! I don't know how I missed this, I did notice you hadn't been around here!

Cheers! Yep I definitely lost a bit of weight, but that's all coming back with the current season of indulgence upon us.

A few years ago we travelled via a cruise to Spain and had a stop in Bilbao. This was a street marker that I took because my sister had expressed an interest in this pilgrimage.View attachment 67216393

Yep. That's the sign you see the whole way, usually with a yellow arrow beneath to indicate to right direction.
