$1200 minimum for next iPhone????

Full details except price have been leaked.. so much for good old fashioned Apple security and secrecy...

3 phones..

iPhone 8, 8+ and X.. so no 7S and 7S+..

The X will be the premium phone with the following new/extra features.

"True tone" screen.. basically the same overblown screen tech on the iPad Pro.
No physical home button and hence no fingerprint sensor.
New facial recognition system...some sort of 3D sensors that knows it is you that are using it and will unlock it automatically. Bet a picture of someone will be able to unlock it now.
Power button on the side will now trigger things like siri, Apple pay and an SOS mode. Great more things that can go wrong. 3D touch on a physical button.. baddddd idea.
The camera will get new "features" that no one will use... something called portrait lightning, whatever that is.

The traditional iPhone 8 and 8+ will remain the same.. with True Tone screen only. Fingerprint sensor remains.

The prices might be the following

8 = 649
8+ = 769
X = 999

However I could see a price raise on the 8 and 8+ to compensate for a lower price on the X. Oh and there will be massive shortages of the X, which wont ship before Christmas.. this is due to production problems. And of course the usual shortages of the normal phones because of Apple holding back stocks to create a fake shortage.

How can the new 8 be cheaper than the 7?

Regarding the fingerprint sensor Pete, is that a popular feature with current model users anyway? I've yet to come across anyone that actually uses that here. I'm sure there are people that do, just not something everyone is comfortable with.

According to Apple its.
According to Apple fanboys and users it is.
According to my real world interaction... it is 50/50 at best.

You have to filter out the propaganda vs reality. For example.. 3D touch was promoted as revolutionary and yet no one really uses it because it is inconsistent across the platform.

The issue is that when you set up your iPhone, you are basically forced to use the fingerprint scanner. Yes you are not forced forced, but the wording on the screen kinda makes "omfgs if you dont". Now depending on who is setting up the phone, then it varies. Older iPhone users often dont set up their phone themselves and hence using fingerprint scanner is not very useful for the guy/girl setting it up for them. Younger users tend to do it themselves, so the fingerprint scanner gets used.

The issue really comes down to marketing. Apple has for years marketed their fingerprint scanner as the safest and best, and mocked Samsung for their retina scanner and in fact even promoted false "news" about it being hacked by a picture. You see Samsung devices have also got face scanning, and that can be hacked via a picture... guess what Apple is going to use in the X... a face scanner. Retina is far harder to hack. That said, fingerprint scanners on the iPhone (and others) can easily be hacked if you have the tools.

We shall see... Apple sheep tend to bend over and take anything Apple throws at them.. like how the home button acts with iOS 10... ****ing annoying having to double click to open the bloody phone when you dont have fingerprint scanning on.

I'd go back to a flip phone before I'd buy an iPhone, or any Apple product. They make good products, BUT every Apple product is overpriced, by A LOT!

Oh, forgot because for an Android user it is normal... the iPhone X will have wireless charging! Hoping for Apple sheep it is an universal version and not an Apple exclusive closed system.

Then take an 6s. They are pretty low price now and very good to use. For most things it is easier than my Samsung, but as soon as you want to do any more android becomes much more complicated.

I'm very happy with my Moto G's. Had the G1, then the 3.. Now I have the G4. Later this year they are coming out with the G5S's.. All around $250-$299. They do everything any Apple phone does at less than 1/2 the price.

I agree. I had the Droid 3 and 4, and then hopped to HTC. Hated it. Went to the Samsung Note 4, it was ok. Had it for two years. Just picked up the Moto Z2 Play and it is awesome. I have an iPhone for work and I hate it.

It happens tomorrow.

Really excited!!!!

And Apple raises the price of the iPhone 8 and 8 plus. Starting price is now 699.

It seems Apple is marketing this phone as a premium high-end product, in relation to their regular lines.

I wouldn't doubt it sells well, similar to a Mac Book Pro. There's always a segment looking for premium and designer products, and in some markets they sell very well!

I wouldn't call a Mac a "premium" product, but "designer" fits really well. Macs are the designer jeans of the PC world. Over-priced, over-hyped, and under-"qualitied".

2 of my daughters are Apple iPhone fans. I'm SURE they will both be happy with the $699 price tag after hearing for 2-3 weeks the new iPhones 8 will costs $1200 and up. I guess the anniversary X will costs $1200. $699 is bad enough, But $1200? Someone has got to be nuts to spend that much on a phone.

I was speaking of the Macbook "Pro", not the basic Macs.

This phone strikes me as an Apple Phone "Pro".
