Argh!
But I will say this: After having owned a plethora of phones, my Apple phone has been the most reliable and dependable smartphone I've ever owned by far!
And I believe that is due to it running only Apple qualified software, rather than Android's open source. I used to be a big open source guy, but no longer.
Well that is not exactly true.
When an Android app crashes, it comes up with a feedback system. Hence you know that something went wrong.
When an iOS app crashes, it "closes" and nothing comes up indicating it crashed. Hence you dont know and just think you hit the wrong button.
Fact is, most studies on the issue, shows that Android is more stable than iOS when it comes to the OS and apps.
Now speaking from my own experience on both platforms, I find that iOS/apps crashes quite a bit, especially on older devices. There are multiple bugs in iOS that have been in there for up to a decade and have yet to be fixed and many other quality of life issues. My personal hatred is the wifi password bug,.. for **** sake Apple fix that ****. App wise, there is better quality in the App store yes, but not by much and that comes down to the developers focus. Take Snapchat, it is clear here that this failing company has chosen to focus on their iOS app while their Android app suffers.
On Android there are other issues depending on the maker of the phone. Samsung phones, older models especially, are lagging due to Touchwiz hell but that is easily fixed. There are a lot of crappy apps in the store, where Google does a good job in stopping crap but it could be better. For example the Edge app in the store.. err how that was allowed I dunno but it should be removed for multiple reasons.
Overall on OS crashes.. they are rare on both platforms, but Android generally has less than iOS. I find my self rebooting iOS far more (relatively speaking) to fix a problem than Android.
So why do people think that iOS is more stable, reliable and dependable? Great Apple propaganda.. err marketing and legacy. iOS use to be far far more stable on all fronts than Android 3+ years ago and still lives on this myth.
