Amazon, an e-commerce website buys Whole Foods. Retail stores and probably now grocery stores are being crushed by Amazon. Will Krogers even be around in 5 years? You can say goodbye to stores like Sears, Macy's, Target, etc.....

Apple is rumored to buy out Tesla, Athena Health, Disney, etc.

It appears these giant tech companies are taking over, monopolizing, and destroying smaller companies from even competing. They are now so powerful, they are moving into different sectors. Is Amazon going to start selling cars soon? Real Estate? Fast Food?

This seems to be like a hostile takeover of society. If Amazon kills Wal-Mart and Costco, Jeff Bezos could be taking over the country.

Do you see this as predatory?
IMHO, I’d expect as much as the monetary potential of IP is higher than that of tangible goods as well as the expense risks to profit ratios on e-based platforms so much better than most traditional commerce sectors thus they attract more of the bigger players in the stock market: funds that only care for the 11%-17% return as they are people retirement etc. This lead to a strong over-valuation bias and hence cash to burn…same with banks and insurance, which are so much worse.

They call it "disruptive technology" for good reason.

Tech companies? no. Media companies? Yes. But Tech companies are heading down the road of media companies in the US.

The malls and stores will disappear. Electric cars will destroys all auto-related businesses. Millions will be unemployed.
