NASA's Misson To The Sun; The Parker Solar Probe

What we really need to do is launch a probe that can grab a big chunk of the sun and bring it back to Earth. Then just put it in a containment chamber and bam! Fusion energy. Like every true energy innovation, no doubt big oil will try and prevent it.

That'll cause global cooling!

edit: Or, depending on the size of the piece brought back, rather severe global warming :D

Your argument is "because I said so." You don't have a "documented argument." You just personally don't want to pay for space travel. You justify this belief with a hypothetical alternate universe where the private sector would have accomplished some unspecified tasks.

Would the private sector have eventually funded a trip to the moon? Maybe. But we know for a fact that they never have. Would the private sector have funded the development of GPS on their own? Maybe. But they didn't. Must not have seen the profit in it.

I like that you wave off your personal attacks against my intellect with another personal attack. It's cute.

"You're stupid!"
"Why are you calling me stupid?"
"HAHAH PERSECUTION COMPLEX"

Pathetic behavior continues.

I gave you documentation in their own words.
Those were my comments and they were about the corruption of the IPCC.
I think you have me confused with another poster about space exploration.

I have no problem with space exploration of (almost) any kind.
Doing something to learn more about the sun is important on the one hand AND calls attention to alarmist hypocrisy on the other.
We already know a great deal about the sun's cycles of radiation strength ... we don't all choose to acknowledge their influence on climate.

The problem is the containment field. There is some good work being done with the stellerator, and the tomak, using the new technologies (mostly high temperature superconductor tape that can be had 'off the shelf' right now. The technology is getting cheap enough that there are private companies getting involved in research now.

... there's about nine hundred other problems for that silly idea

You don't have to go to the sun get get the heated plasma :).. GOing to the sun to 'mine' it for heat is just plain silly.
