Firstly i would like to say that this thread is in a sense is about a site issue problem. But i am putting it here in S&T because If i cannot make a good argument on the technology then i don't have a site issue problem.

I started a thread and was told by a mod that i had put it in the wrong forum. So went and had a look and could not figure out why it was wrong. I had put it in Breaking News* - Mainstream Media. Any broadcast or news organization who's only goal is to report the news - primary news sources.
The thread started with information from a news source. One that is a primary news source or at least that is how it is described when i googled up the news source. So what was the problem? The answer i got back was. *BN* - Non-MSM: A news service whose primary means of distribution is the internet or is found in a section of a MSM news service labeled as "Blogs". The part in bold was done by the mod to emphasise where the problem was.

So basically the argument given to me is that if it only appears on the net and is not printed on paper then it is not classed as a primary news source. Apparently main stream is still considered only to be paper printed news. I immediately went and had a look at a calendar and checked and yes, it is in fact the 21st century. But some still hang onto the idea that it is not real news unless printed on a bit of pulped wood. This might be a geographical problem but i think that is stretching it, America is only eighteen hours behind new zealand not eighteen years.

P.S. I have also been informed that this could be a bibliographical platforms (MLA) issue which again makes it a technology issue. But even so is that still a good reason to insist that a distinction be made between news sources that are net only and those that are printed .
