The thought has occurred to me to have a new type of rail way system, as there are seldom crashes, yet that is too many, and, costs way too much to fix and people are sometimes injured or killed.
This is why we need a set or rails 'up in the air' above the train to keep it fixed in place. this means, when they would derail, they would stay on the 'lines' due to graphene reinforcements. this would stop them coming off the tracks, instead merely stopping and crushing a few cars.
Then, there could be more graphene used in construction, to stop them careering into each other. this would be like a 'rubber bumper' too, where they will stop abruptly. then, there will be less damage done to passengers and cars.
Of course, with the graphene upper rails, the chances of setting a train up on the wrong track would also be eliminated. this would hopefully bring about a minor accident, where the train car stops due to unaligned rails, leaving plenty of time to double check where the train is supposed to be going, of course.
