Well, that makes sense for sure. For adherents to all or any religion.

Christians are told to “Make sure of all things; hold fast to what is fine.” 1 Thessalonians 5:21
    So are others.

A person should make sure that his beliefs can be supported by the Scriptures, for there is only one true faith...according to Ephesians 4:5...“one Lord, one faith, one baptism”...
Isn't it strange then that Jews believe in the same things? Okay, baptism (Tevilah) is not exactly the same as in Christianity but has a similar function. Where do you think John (the Baptist) got the ritual from and where did Jesus (a Jew)?

In spite of what many would like to believe, Jesus did not agree with the modern, relaxed view that there are many roads, many religions, all leading to salvation...he said: “Narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.” Matt. 7:14
That part of the Sermon of the Mount deals with the nature of the path (as in the nature of the travellers thereupon) not with how many roads there are or are not. That Jesus meant the example to be geographical can be doubted.

Wrong...context is everything...the preceding verses admonishes the believer not to be misled by false prophets/false teachings...

As for the rest of your comment, I cannot help how others believe to be true, only what I believe to be true...

On another forum, there was an agnostic that quoted 1 Thessalonians 5:21 as the motivation for why he no longer was a Christian.. he examined, and could not hold onto his belief. Other people can.

True enough. Yet again making no statement over all religions being wrong.
As for the rest of your comment, I cannot help how others believe to be true, only what I believe to be true...
Which is your right, of course. That alone does not, however, make your belief more valid than that of others.

I would call that the lack of motivation...he stopped making sure...

I'm not concerned with what is valid to others...only what is valid to Jehovah God...

On the contrary.. he wanted to believe so much. He kept on looking for reasons to believe, but found the reasons to be wanting.

That is his fallacy...not God's...others have searched and found sound reasons...

......respectively of what your belief holds that to be.

    I understand.
