Before the holidays start it is time to focus back on what is important.

That nothing is impossible with God.

2000 years ago God became flesh and was born by a virgin to redeem the world from
Darkness. From the last book that we have in the Old Testament to when Christ came is about 500
Years. Then God spoke to people again in their great time of need.

For I bring you good tiding of great joy. For unto you is born this day in th city of Bethlehem a baby who is Christ the Lord, and you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes laying in a manager. Then the host sang glory to God in he highest and on earth peace and good will to all men.

Mary was probably about 14-15. She was engaged and was going to be pregnant. This was a death sentence but the angel said "fear not".

Her response was not my will but yours.

This should be our focus this holiday. God takes what we consider impossible and makes them possible.

Re: It's Christmas time.

For many, Advent, "a time of expectant waiting and preparation," has begun. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent

You mention Mary but not Joseph. Now there was a steadfast and bravely obedient man. He had every right to do to his fiancée what is still done today in some parts of the world but instead stepped up in faith and protected his little family.

Ol yes there was.

You are engaged to a women. She has proven her virginity. You are to be wed in a few months
Then out of the blue she is pregnant. You are like what the ...

He had a few choices. He could have put her away or had her stoned.
But the same angel that appeared to Mary appeared to Joseph.

Be not afraid to take Mary as your wife.
Talk about of time of crisis.

Your about to be married. The women you are to marry is now pregnant and you know you didn't have anything to do with it. All of your friends and family are now furious when you say you will marry her anyway.
Mary was probably called some not nice names.

Now you have a decree from people you 100% despise that you have to go to your home city for a census.

Now the distance is about 89 miles from where they were at to belthlehem. Your walking with a donkey and your wife is getting ready to have a baby.

You reach the city and all of your relatives say no room, or they didn't want your pregnant wife there because well she was just that kind of women and why would you marry someone like that.

There wasn't an actual inn. You stayed with family or friends.

Bethlehem is where they raised the sacrificial sheep for the temple.
The tower of the flock is probably where they went.

This is where they kept the baby lambs who would be used for the sacrifice.

Ludin, G-d is always the focus on any holy day that is celebrated in my house.
Whether it be the day we celebrate the birth of Christ and the miracle attached to it or Hanukkah the festival of lights and the miracle attached to it as well that coincides, or what today is called Easter that coincides with the Passover, G-d is the focus.

The world can be burning all around believers but they know G-d is in control. A blessed Christmas to you and yours Ludin.

I find your comments in the Religious Forum of all places offensive. You don't even have enough respect for G-d to capitalize His name.

Re: It's Christmas time.

No god could do it, either.

Easy peasy.

Happy Holidays!

Since God can do anything and nothing is impossible you would be wrong.
Now that that is over with. We can get back to the discussion.

Any more posts will be reported that are off topic.

Moderator's Warning:
I'd like to remind everyone of the rule set that the Religious Discussion forum is under which can be found here. Action has already been taken against those that violated this rule. Also the one liners need to stop.

Merry Christmas all. I hope you are spending time with family and making amends to others.
I found out this year how short life is, and how important family is.

Re: It's Christmas time.

Let's make "Peace on earth" and "good will toward men" more than holiday catch phrases.
