Do you believe in demons? [W: 312]

From time to time surfing the web I come across some really troubling stories of heinous acts that human beings have engaged in against other human beings. Often they bring me to tears. And today was one such day where a man was convicted of sexually abusing an infant.

The number of heinous acts committed by some seem to be growing and often they are against our most vulnerable. You can call it mental illness if you like but the level of such heinous acts leads me to believe some people are possessed.

What say you?

See Dick Cheney.

Re: Do you believe in demons?

I strongly suggest reading a few history books on how evil humans can and have been in all eras.

Building a heavy platform over your defected enemies so they are slowly crush to death as you and your men enjoy a victory dinner on the platform is just one example.

Actually Elvira had a good point, one you just not wish to agree.

Those versed on prophecy are well aware of their significance in today's daily headlines.

Those who have studied Scripture also know all prophecies being fulfilled in the book of Daniel have been so. Everything is fulfilled. Now it is in G-d's timing.

Have a nice day.

Re: Do you believe in demons?

If that was all that was involved, I would probably agree with you...man has always dominated man to his own injury since the beginning of time...Ecclesiastes 8:9... but it is not only what man is doing to man but what man is doing to our planet...never before in mankind's history is our mere existence threatened as it is today...and God will not tolerate that...Revelation 11:18...

How old does your bible say the planet is again?

And the Jews will convert at the last second or go to Hell.

It really doesn't say how old our planet is, perhaps billions of years old...

Re: Do you believe in demons?

Slapped together in 6 days?

Actually time to God is not necessarily a 24 hour day...the Bible says 1,000 years is as a day to Him...Psalm 90:2,4; 2 Peter 3:8...day and night was set up for mankind to judge the passing of time...

So with that in mind a creative day could have been 1,000 years...who knows?

Re: Do you believe in demons?

Who knows how many years days 1-4 incurred because the 24 hour period creating one day would not have occurred until the 4th day. But then again one would have to read it and apply science to it to declare the 24 hour day did not happen till the 4th day.

So we can turn the bible into anything we want can't we.

Exactly, the entire thing can be whatever one needs to see.

No...we go by what it says...God's Holy Word...it's called the power of reason, which God gave us...well most of us anyway...

The bible is full of evilness and in a lot of cases by the lord own prophecies such as Moses ordering the death of children but for the young girls who had yet to know a man.

Still can remember reading such as a young child from the family king Jame bible and rejecting the christian religious as a result.

Never leave a bible laying around where a child might read it if you wish that child to become a 'good' christian.

Oh an you have a good day also.

Right, god's holy word.

My children read it...and yes they grew up to be good Christian adults...ages 45, 33, and 30...but they were taught to read it with discernment and understanding...something not everyone can do...

You have a really perverted view of G-d's word. That's a real shame. May you find His peace in your lifetime.

Possession and/or the "devil made me do it" are BS excuses. There are no demons, just antisocial asshole humans who don't possess a sliver of empathy.

Love to hear how you convince your sons that for example killing innocent children on the order of Moses but for the young girls to be share out is moral under any possible human code of morality.

Not even Moses followers in the bible wish to do so and needed to be strongly order by Moses to obey him in the killings of even infants in their mother arms.

No child...no human is innocent under God's perfect law...we are all born into sin and all deserve death...it is through God's undeserved loving kindness that any of us have a chance for life...of course some people's imperfect, sinful reasoning cannot comprehend that...

No I can not understand the love that results in the killing of infants in their mother arms to me that is on it face is an evil god not worthy of any worship by any human.

Any system of religion that has anything in it that shocks the mind of a child, cannot be true.

Do you not understand that considering Adam and Eve's disobedience, none of us should even be here? It is only by God's grace and undeserved love and kindness, that we even exist? Rightfully He could have destroyed Adam and Eve, but He didn't, thus allowing us the privilege of being born...allowing us the chance to learn the truth...allowing us the chance to choose weather we accept His means of forgiveness...His Son, Jesus Christ? For that, all humans should be eternally grateful...yet there are those who choose to spit in God's face...SMH...

So by that logic if a serial killer decide for whatever reason not to killed you then you owe him or her gratitude.

Sorry but by my logic if such a god, as the christian god, exist he is the one who should ask for our forgiven not the other way around.

One big difference...the serial killer did not create you...he did not give you life in the first place...if you continue to look at it from the imperfect human's POV instead of attempting to see it from a perfect Almighty God's POV , then you will never get it...it's called "thinking outside your own small, little world'...

Re: Do you believe in demons?

Let get back to the subject of demons.

When the catholic church was torturing thousands to deaths by torture the claim for the torture was that it was an attempt to save their immortal souls even at the cost of their lives.

To the degree that Demons exist it seems to be a direct outgrow of religious beliefs that result in otherwise perfectly norm humans to act as demons.
