Forgiving in the Person of Christ

Your explanation didn't even touch on it. That's what I want you to explain. Yes, context can help, but how does that change the meaning?

Read it again. If you don't accept it as an explanation.....what more can I say?

Why would Jesus let them leave over a misunderstanding? Where else did He do that?

To downplay it as merely a "misunderstanding," says it all.

Read my post again.

John 6

Rejected by His Own

41 The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.” 42 And they said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”

Well, obviously they lacked faith in Him. Even though He'd performed miracles, they still doubt Him!
Read the verse! Because they knew of His family, they questioned His claim that He came down from heaven!

Take note that they didn't take Him literally as being a "bread" ........otherwise they'd be asking "why is He calling Himself a bread? Instead they asked, "How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?"

They were questioning His claim to have come down from Heaven - which means they question His whole claim about who He is! They asked, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know?"
They questioned His claim as the Son of God.

If you don't want to accept what I've explained (in details), what more can I say?

You've ignored my questions to you too, regarding the apostles.
Why didn't they take Him literally? Why didn't they question and ask for further explanation? Why didn't anyone try to make an attempt to eat a piece of Him?

I read the chapter again. There's further explanation at the end.

John 6
Many Disciples Turn Away

60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”

61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you?
62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe,
and who would betray Him.
65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”

Jesus knew they didn't believe His claim being the Son of God. It's about faith.

John 6
68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

God bless, Phattonez.

You can tell me how St. Paul's words about being mindful of the body of Christ actually doesn't mean that.

I still haven't seen you answer my question. What more would Jesus have had to say in order for you to take Him literally here?

God bless you as well.
