How much should our faith impact our lives?[W:116]

Re: How much should our faith impact our lives?

At the very least, you probably shouldn't behave in a way that makes your faith repugnant to others and if you're gonna preach, you damn well better be living what you preach.

"Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God..." (I Corinthians 10:32)

Re: How much should our faith impact our lives?

my spiritual belief can not supercede another's basic human right to decide what is best for THEM

spiritual belief can impact every single part of an individual's life and their decisions, but it can not EVER impact another's basic human rights

From the top of my head, my first answer would be: The more your faith changes you on a fundamental level, the more it becomes part of your personality -- while at the same time the least visible at the surface, the better.

Christ said when you pray, do it in your room, not in the open, for other people to see. This general idea nails it, IMO. Ideally, your faith should impact you in a manner that makes other people recognize you as an example of goodness to emulate, even when they have no clue what your religious views are.

You can pray all day, go to church at every occassion, talk about your faith whenever you can, make a lot of fuss about yet -- yet still not be truly affected by it in your heart. Likewise, the opposite can be true, too.

But what really matters is the change of heart.

Extremely well said sir. :applaud

Did somebody say something?

If you cant respond, you cant. It doesnt say much for the foundation of your OP tho.

And certainly not much incentive to get people to respond honestly and constructively in the future either.

No wonder you seem to have a persecution complex.

I wouldn't call it a complex. More like a duplex.

I'm sorry you took offense to my post. It was meant to be a joke.
