When I am traveling there isn't much on tv let alone when I am overseas.

so what I do is I look back and watch the Kendrick brother movies. On that hits me the most is Courageous.
Being a father myself I view that it is important to be the role model that God has laid out for fathers to be.

We wonder why kids are shooting other kids.
We wonder why kids are in gangs
We wonder why families are falling apart

All of these go back to one important issue. The lack of Godly men and fathers teaching and loving their children the way
the bible commands.

I am not the perfect father. In fact at times I have been a bad father and example to my children.
It is something that I am working on so that I can be the Father and husband that God wants me to be.

The Consequences of Fatherlessness | National Center for Fathering

The role of a father in their children's life is hugely important.
it is something that society for years has ignored and abandoned thinking that mothers only are more important.
yet statistic after statistic show that kids without fathers face a huge set back compared to those that do.

it gets even worse when you get into minorities. almost 70% of all black kids do not have a father.
70% is huge. how about instead of Black lives matter how about Father Lives Matter.

I count myself fortunate even though I didn't have the best dad I had a dad and over all he generally cared about me
and my brother. he didn't always show it but he did care about us. he and my mom didn't get along for their own reasons, but
they stayed together till we were out of the house and on our own.

I think if we are going to want a better society we need fathers to step up and take on the role's and responsibility
that God degreed for us as men to follow.

fathers play an important part in a child's life

the problem is there is a vast difference between a biological father, and a nurturing father who has chosen to stay present in that child's life

it isn't that mum's are more important to the child, it's that they stuck around and dad exited

why do you think that happens?

more than likely they didn't have a father that taught them how to be responsible or to be a man.
that daughter didn't have a father to nurture and protect her and sought that in the wrong places.

the statistics on fathers don't lie and it gets worse as generation after generation is raised without them.

the fact is that we are slowly becoming a fatherless society both physically and spiritually and if the statistics hold true
that means we are doomed.

yes, it is an endless circle unfortunately

the great thing is there are lots of good men out there that are frequently willing to be Big Brothers or mentor a child in some way

mentors matter not biological dads

it does take a village

kids who make it out out from relenting poverty and violence and become successful are usually the ones who have been mentored

it's not hopeless, it can be done

This simplistic nonsense won't get us anywhere.

Children without fathers, but with a sufficient number of other adult caretakers (gay couples, multi-adult households who may not be a couple, etc) do just as well as their traditional family peers.

Many of the mass shooters we've had come from intact homes. In fact, in some cases their parents went to extraordinary lengths to try to raise them despite their problems, and were thwarted mostly by an inadequate amount of access to professional help. Rodgers is one particularly stark example.

The problems plaguing the black community are much more complex than just fatherlessness. If anything, this is a symptom of the real core problems.

And there are certainly many ways in which too much "godliness" makes things worse. Children raised in overly conservative homes often have more problems with self-image, sexual risk-taking, and all the negative consequences that follow from that.

Inadequate parental support is a problem in true single-parent homes (as delineated from homes with sufficient parental figures which simply don't have a man present, where we see no evidence of such problems). And doubtless, men who are part of families with children certainly do need to be involved with their children more than they often are in the US.

But it is certainly not a lack of "godly," narrow views of what families are that is the problem. The problems are complex, and dependent on which issue you're looking at.

while it can help unless that person becomes a father it is not the same.

red herring argument this has nothing to do with people with mental issues. it has to do with kids being raised in fatherless homes
and the destruction that it is having on youth.

only people that have no clue believe this nonsense, but your religious bigotry is noted.
Benefits of Family for Children and Adults

actually it is a lack of godliness. it is a lack of fathers living up to the standards that they are supposed to.
it is a societal issue in which society has deemed dad's irrelevant unless it is giving money to the kids mother.

as I said stats don't lie. If more fathers followed godly steps kids wouldn't have the issues that they do.

PS. If you don't like the religious aspect you probably shouldn't post in the religious forum.

Haven't you ever heard the statement 'THere are lies, there are damn lies and there are statistics'. One can make all sorts of invalid claims by the use and misuse of statistics.

Well, how do you know?? How do you know that the relationships that are attempting to be describe are the right relationships??

You folks you put raw links up haven't made a case, other than showing that they have a political agenda.

because they are backed by about every other study on the planet that says the same thing.
yes saying that fathers should play an important role in their kids life is not only biblical but
important to society is political. ok I guess you are done in this thread then.
