What is the will of God?

I wish to concentrate my entire existence into doing the will of God. But how do you do it and how do you know? This confuses me daily.

There's a very popular book on this topic called "The Purpose Driven Life". I highly recommend it for a Christian take on the answer to this question. It's an easy read despite having some critical insights.

I cannot possibly accept Christian beliefs, but ironically, it's where I find the most similarities to what I believe and strive for (might be that I haven't looked further ahead).

You express in a lot of posts how confused you are and such... perhaps asking a therapist instead of a bunch of arguing strangers would be a better course of action?
