Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.

Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.

When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.

If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.

Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.

Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.

Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.

Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
Do not harm little children.

Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.

When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

I find these very reasonable, actually.

And a lot more freedom in those than in God's ten commandments.

"I am certainly of opinion that genius can be acquired, or, in the alternative, that it is an almost universal possession. Its rarity may be attributed to the crushing influence of a corrupted society. It is rare to meet a youth without high ideals, generous thoughts, a sense of holiness, of his own importance, which, being interpreted, is, of his own identity with God. Three years in the world, and he is a bank clerk or even a government official. Only those who intuitively understand from early boyhood that they must stand out, and who have the incredible courage and endurance to do so in the face of all that tyranny, callousness, and the scorn of inferiors can do; only these arrive at manhood uncontaminated."

-Aleister Crowley

You know, that is not an unreasonable claim either.

As to this person's notions, whoever the hell he is,

1. People often like to hear the opinions of other people, or get advice from them. Don't see any reason to forbid that.

2. Sometimes a person is so troubled he needs to talk to someone, and it would be cruel not to listen or try to help, if possible. This is a lame excuse for being mean.

3. The use of the word "lair" says a lot. But people should generally respect their hosts.

4. Again, an excuse to be mean. I don't live in a "lair.' But if a guest purposely and seriously annoyed me, I would just ask the person to leave.

5. Is this some universal signal we've never heard of before? Advances may be welcome--rude not to show the lady you're attracted to her, and let her respond.

6. Stealing is wrong; accepting gifts is not. Profound.

7. If there were magic, I don't know why anyone who had had it work for them would then deny it. Curious.

8. Common sense. If you choose to hit your thumb with a hammer, don't complain to me about how it hurts.

9. Not only don't hurt them, but PROTECT them from harm. I think this is a trick rule, though. I doubt any damned Satanist bastard is that decent.

10. Depends on the animal and the nature of the attack. No decent person would kill a little kitten for nipping his finger.

11. Destroy? Pretty harsh. I can't see shooting someone who's hiking ahead of me on a trail just because he doesn't turn his radio down when I ask.

A lot of Satanists do, I'm sure.

And a lot more freedom in those than in God's ten commandments.

And broad is the path that leads to destruction.

Besides, if these were actually ever received from a Satanic being, they would be a lie, because Satan is a liar and a murderer (John 8:44).

#2 Does say unless you are sure they want to hear them. it does not forbid you from seeking help.

Basically it just means you should be cautious. You can't open up to everybody, many will react with nothing but vitriol or use that information to shame and humiliate you for their entertainment.

I don't agree with your interpretation of this whozit's "rule" about that. To hell with Antoine Whozit, whoever he is, or was.

No different than the psychopathic god you serve.

"Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked." From my lair to yours: I think you broke your own rule. Guess I'll have to trust what I learned from the Cosby Show...oops...

Moderator's Warning:
I am uninterested what you think of the Satanistic Commandments... or the Ten Commandments. In THIS sub-forum, you WILL be respectful to all religions, or you will receive consequences. Anything like I have already seen in this thread and I will make you sorry.

How was Satan involved in the creation of these rules? Does LaVey claim to be divinely inspired, or are they simply of his own creation?

Your sole source for Satanic references is the Bible (correct me if I'm wrong). How can you worship Satan, knowing what his purpose is?

Well, from a Christian standpoint, anything that is not from Hod is from Satan.

Secondly, i don't worship Satan.

thirdly, this is really not about worshiping Satan, it is about a rebellion against the depravity of the Christian religion and the awful people who are a part of it.

And it's funny how when people are completely unintelligent they have to resort to personal attacks when they can't understand any given points or discuss them in a mature manner.

Its ad hominem logical fallacy. It is very popularly used.

Anyway, there is no actual empirical evidence to support the claim that this religious "satan" exists and that the commandments derive from it. Thereby none of its "commandments" are relevant.

Empirical evidence and the existence of Satan is actually irrelevant to the commandments.

And they are very relevant for they are a rebellion against the christian church, which influences lots of people in America and around the world.

I think you meant to place this thread in the Philosophical Discussions forum, there you can bash Christians to your heart's delight. The Religious Discussions forum does not allow that. ;)

He was already trashing me by calling me a Satanist.

And there won't be any action to address that.

Huh, interesting. So your Satanism is basically a form of hedonism.

actually it is the opposite hedonism spawns from Satanism.
since Satan is the source of all evil

it would only be appropriate that anything that comes from him is evil as well including any commandments.

we saw what happened to Satan when he rebelled against God. Not only did he not win the fight he lost the war.
so why follow the losing team?

calling something that you are advocating is not trashing you.
and you seem to be supporting what was said in your first post.

you then went onto trash God. so what he called you very much seems to be on point as that seems to be
the side that you are supporting in this thread.
