Prayer Requests[W:95]

Re: Prayer Requests

Calling all faithful.
Today I learned that a young lady in her twenties who was born with defects and lived her life in a wheel chair appears to be about to die. I have had the privilege of meeting her and getting to know her and she has a million dollar smile, beautiful face and eyes that just sparkle. Nothing wrong with her mind. She graduated from college just two years ago. She has been to my home as my cousin has been her caregiver for over a decade. She has become a member of our family celebrating weddings, births, holidays. With each year because of her disability she lost more and more control of her mobility. She had reached a point a feeding tube was needed because she could no longer eat. They have started a morphine drip which usually means there is no more they can do. Please pray for Kelly, her family and the dedicated nurse that cared for her daily. Thank you.

I am having a long chat with a friend of mine, a Jewish Carpenter who works miracles, I'll ask Him to take away her fear, and give her comfort beside still waters.

He's really good that way

Re: Prayer Requests

Vesper, have you an update on Kelly?

Vesper, have you an update on Kelly?

Morning Nota, thank you for asking. Yes, I got an update yesterday evening. She's still hanging in there. The analogy I was given is she seems to be out of the swampy part of the woods and shows slight improvement but still not out of the woods. Thank you so much for your prayers and concern.

Re: Prayer Requests

I know your aren't particularly religious CJ. but anytime you have a burden for another, post it here. My prayer list is never too long to include another. And thank you sweetheart for your kind words in my personal situation.

What is religion?

James 1:27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

Re: Prayer Requests

What is religion?

Evening American, the words you highlighted in my post to CJ stem from other conversations (good conversations) we have shared on the forum. Every conversation I have engaged in with CJ has shown me he is a man with a good heart.

That verse you quoted has had many a sermon given on it. And much commentary has been written about it. The book of James in itself is a call to the faithful to be mature and seek a pure heart.

James 1:27 Commentaries: Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

Re: Prayer Requests

Update on Kelly- Yesterday she was keeping down the tube feedings and they set her in her wheelchair and was able to eat a little soup. :) Now that's a far cry from just a couple of days ago having the family called to her bedside and being prepared for the worst. I want to give a heartfelt thank you for your prayers.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6

Amen, Vesper. Keep us posted please.

Evening Nota, Kelly is home and Hospice is visiting regularly. She saw the doctor yesterday and he changed her antibiotic. The doctor she has had since birth is making house calls. There has been nights where he has spent the night by her bedside.

Re: Prayer Requests

I know we haven't had much interactions on this forum Vesper, but I've read many of your post and I like what you say. I will certainly pray for your loved ones.. God bless you and yours.

Vesper, how wonderful that Kelly's own doctor is with her.

BTW, when I met with my "gatekeeper" physician two weeks ago, I learned that he's leaving my HMO and will be working with our local hospice full-time. I always thought that Young Doctor Cutie would do this because the first time I met him, I saw evidence of his involvement in hospice care framed on the wall of his office.

When I asked him when he'd made the decision, he told me to the minute.

This day in age to have a family doctor be there on their own time during a crisis is a miracle in itself. I pray you find another good doctor. Nota thank you so much for your prayers and concern for someone you do not even know, and at anytime I can pray for you specifically, I'm just a P.M. away. May the Lord richly bless you for your good heart.

Re: Prayer Requests

To all of you who prayed for my daughter, I have a praise report. Her surgery went well. The doctors were very pleased. Thank you all for your prayers.

Great news Vesper!! :2dance:

Re: Prayer Requests

Great news!

I will ask for a prayer request of my own. My husband had a spot removed from his arm, and they want to make sure that it hasn't moved into his lymph nodes.

Scary. :(

Re: Prayer Requests

Great news Vesper!! :2dance:

Thank you JC. But most of all, thanks for your prayers. Without going into too much detail, there were risks involved with the surgery, to some extent for any surgery there are risks, but prayer made the difference. God's Word has a lot to say about intercessory prayer and its power. When you pray for others you can experience healing for yourself. What an awesome God we have!
James 5:16

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Anytime Vesper, and James is my favorite book! :)

Re: Prayer Requests

Best wishes to the OP. and his daughter.

If the prayer thread continues perhaps someone can chart the success rate and compare it to the success rate of people with similar afflictions who have not been prayed for, to see if it really does any good.

I think that is not a very good idea. Why give ammunition to people who don't believe in the power of prayer?

God doesn't answer every single prayer. He hears you, but doesn't always give you what you want. There may be reasons down the road that we don't know about.

Well said.

I'll also be praying for you and your husband. :)

Re: Prayer Requests

2nd biopsy came back all clear. :) :) Thank You, God.

They still want him to see a hematologist-oncologist to make sure that nothing has gotten in his blood, and they want him to, later on, have his lymph nodes checked, but for now, he's in good shape!

Thanks for all the prayers.

I already said Praise the Lord in the other thread, but I'll say it again here. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Prayers (including thank you God prayers, now) will continue. Yay God!!! woohoo.gif
