Happy Easter to everyone!

Indeed. Happy Easter to one and all!

(Disclaimer: This message not addressed to those who would take any offense)

hope that everyone has a great Easter.

Some folks when counting the days, start from evening to morning as they are recorded in Genesis. Growing up, we greeted one another on Easter morning with "He is Risen" and a holy kiss. Breakfast was a boiled egg before heading to church. We made a game out of the eggs. Each person looked for the egg that had a hard shell and strong pointed end. Then we would tap each other's egg on the end and the one whose egg didn't crack was the winner.

A blessed Easter to All.

I don't wish to be disagreeable, but I do think that after the shock of His execution, reflecting on how brokenhearted all who loved and believed in Him were remains very important for us as the Lenten journey is completed.

Been there myself. But this year is different.

hope that everyone has a great Easter.

Greetings, Helix. :2wave:

The same to you and yours! :bunny: .. Our town is having their Easter egg hunt for kids today - I wonder how bunnies ever became associated with eggs? Shouldn't we have a chicken as a symbol instead? :lamo:

Yes, to all, and what a neat family tradition.

this article explores the history of the Easter bunny. as with many other holiday traditions, it goes way back.

The history of the Easter Bunny

a podcast i listen to called "Stuff You Should Know" just released a really interesting episode about Easter. before listening to it, i also didn't much about what rabbits and eggs had to do with the holiday. it's a great podcast; they delve into all kinds of different topics.

yeah, i enjoy that, too.

Thank you for the generous effort you've made here, Tosca! I'm going to look forward to listening to this music...tomorrow.

But today is Holy Saturday, the day according to the Apostle's Creed that Jesus spent in hell, a day of meditation. Here is a link to how various denominations observe this day: Holy Saturday - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm not really into specific dates. To me, it's more of the significance of the event.

I might not have the time to post tomorrow....that's why I've posted those today!
Happy Resurrection Day!

I hope that everyone has a beautiful and blessed Easter.

I wish a happy and memorable day for all my Christian friends.

I am going to put the altar back together today with a freshly cleaned fair linen after having stripped it Thursday night, polish the brass, and unveil the icons. I am sooooo glad Easter is almost here.

I made cookies!!

Pshaw!

 Did you get an Easter Basket? I got a small basket, but all it had was candy in it - no stock or bond certificates, jewelry, or new car titles in it - and I looked! I look every year, though! :lamo: Thankfully, the Bunny isn't as strict as Santa on insisting we should be good little boys and girls, but I was hoping....

I had a wonderful day with my church. I cannot get there easily anymore and it was great to reconnect socially.

And on my own learned something new....Jesus appeared to Mary Magdaline before any of the disciples or even his mother...because she was so heartbroken she needed him.

What a guy!

When people talk about the role of women in the church, remembering that Christ appeared first to a woman is important.

Meanwhile, I hope all my Orthodox friends have a blessed Holy Week. (Their Easter is next Sunday this year.)
