When you sense God, what do you feel?
Does a thread with 9 replies warrant a sequel?
When you sense God, what do you feel?
Gratitude.
What does that feel like to you?
What does that feel like to you?
If you have to ask what gratitude feels like, I feel tremendously sorry for you.
(chuckle)
It was the question: did you read the OP? When you sense God - what do you feel?
My body opens up and I become hypersensitive to sounds and the energy around me. The connectedness with trees and clouds and the wind is astounding and I fear nothing.
How do you know that is god, rather than a purely physical bio-electrical activity in your brain? How can you tell?
Even a drug has a purely physical bio-electrical activity in your brain, but you know where it comes from...
Yes, we know that. Tat is not answering my question. My question is 'How do you know this is a god sense, and not merely an emotional reaction to a sensory event that you are attributing to sensing God.'
Well, it is answering your question: you can identify the source of the feeling... The frame of mind by which you experience the effects...
Now how do I know?
Because there is a personality attached to it. Moreover, every sense has a physiological explanation to it. Some refer to the Alpha state as well: that too has a physiological explanation. Gratitude has a physiological explanation, as does love: but we know what those are, right? There is intent in those feeling yes? The descriptive words only put a label on the physiological feeling. The paradox that has you stuck is the old: how can you prove that love exists?
You grasp things very hard and - in a sense... white knuckle your way through life. The body has it's own memory and consciousness that operates outside the ego's fallacy of control. When one connects with that concept, that's when a peak experience can occur. "Can" is the operative word.
Anyone who denies even a casual connection to jelly fish misses the whole thing.
Why do people's bones hurt when it before it rains?
Is there a 'personality' associated with it?? Or is that part of the emotional experience???
As for the reason people bones hurts before it rains is a change in the atmospheric pressure causing extra pressure to joints when people already have symptoms of inflamation.
Oh yes there is.
And as for rain? it went right over your head: the whole thing is right over your head: slow down, stop trying to control the weather.
Perhaps if you actually speak plainly.
And, you still have not shown that it wasn't entirely within your own brain, without any other external influence. Yes, I am sure it was a highly emotional experience, but you have not shown that experience had an external source. When asked how, you gave nonsense answers, and made even more unsupported claims.
I am speaking very plainly. You're getting a bit frustrated because you're not quite sure what to make of what I'm saying. It's not going to categorize itself for you. This is why I asked the question; what do you feel when you sense God?
What is God?
Got an answer?
Good luck with that. Answers to that question just get people in lots of trouble, or haven't you been reading the news lately.
What if God said "hello" to you? Would you question it? Would you challenge it? Would you drink it off?
A brown rock is only a brown rock because WE say it is. What does a rabbit think it is?
How do you show what's in our brain BTW? Pictures? Words?
Ever drive for 40 miles and suddenly wake up and wonder where you are? That's the body operating independently of the mind as I said before.
Stop trying to grasp it.
Which came first? Geometry? or our ability to use it?
Sure something happened within my brain: I stopped drinking, smoking and using coffee all in one shot on the same day.
That's the mind and body working together for the same thing: a clear connection. You can't make it happen though, so be warned.
It's a bit like catching a fish: you just have to be patient.
Can you show your own sense of smell? You can point to an apple and say "that smells like an apple", but how would you prove that?

woah....I have no idea what you are trying to say... The only thing I can get from that is that you just admit you don't know things and you are trying to project you not knowing things onto others..
Are you actually asking questions?
"What is God?" -I don't know... I could have a guess, but I have no idea.
"Got an answer?"- Not one that I can say is true in all confidence
"What if God said "hello" to you?"-It would probably scare me and I would try to see if I was either crazy or someone is trying to mess with me
"Would you question it?"-Yes, but maybe they could convince me?
"Would you challenge it?"-Yes
"Would you drink it off?"-No?
I would hope he did something more than just say hello though... because a lot of people do that, and not just him in this case...
"A brown rock is only a brown rock because WE say it is. " Yes, we use language to explain phenomena. When we see a rock that bounces off a certain light spectrum that is similar in pattern to other things, we eventually give that spectrum a name... and in the rocks case, it is brown.
"What does a rabbit think it is?"A rabbit probably doesn't care, but assuming they have color vision, the rabbit would be able to notice similar patterns in his point of view... but since a rabbit does not have language nor the mental capacity to care he doesn't call it brown.
"How do you show what's in our brain BTW? Pictures? Words?" We use language and imagery. Scientist can do further things like track the electrical signals and such.
Well, I wasn't talking to you.
When you sense God; what do you feel?
When you sense God, what do you feel?
I've never sensed God...
I think there may be one, but I have never felt or sensed one...
There was this once experience - I was making an offering to Him in my own way - and I felt this surge of extreme joy fill my heart that it felt like it would burst. I sat down and was in awe, and relished that experience.
It's the extreme joyful feeling that stood out....it just came out of nowhere.
It's hard to explain accurately in words....
That's a good experience: you felt you soul connect - maybe yeah? What do you think it was?
Thank you for speaking on it.
That's too bad.
What do you think God would feel like?
