Only for Christians. Non-Christians don't have to believe it. Christians do or they are something else entirely.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

You are either a Christian or you are not.
So, in the modern world, Christians are a very small minority.

Re: Does God hate some people?

But not the question in the poll.

yep it does.

john 3:16 sums up the poll perfectly.

I agree with you on that. I won't argue with you on that point.

Matthew 7:13-14 HCSB "Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.

Re: Does God hate some people?

john 3:16 sums up the poll perfectly.

John 3:16 HCSB "For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Notice the third word. The word is "loved" which is past tense. God hates those who love violence. He probably loved them at first but now He doesn't. You don't develop a love of violence over night. God probably gave the lover of violence plenty of time to turn away from his/her wicked ways. He loved them but He doesn't love them anymore. That's why they end up in hell. It makes no sense for God to send those that He loves to hell. That's only what a mental patient would believe. God's word is clear and if it's not, you still have the ability to use logic. God wouldn't send someone He loves to hell to burn in eternal torment. He would send someone He hates to a place like that. God's hate is almost as strong as His love.

Notice the 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd words. The words are, "everyone who believes in Him". This doesn't not include those who think God is a metaphor.

and that narrow gate involves believing that stories like the Garden of Eden and Noah's flood are to be taken literally? Such a belief may have been a lot easier back before there was modern science.

Re: Does God hate some people?

God hates Hitler.

Psalms 11:5 HCSB The LORD examines the righteous and the wicked. He hates the lover of violence.

Only if Hitler never truly repented of his sins, which I believe he was incapable of.

The "narrow gate" has absolutely nothing to do with the Garden of Eden or Noah's Flood.
