What about the souls of extraterrestrials?

How the heck would anyone know the answer to that question, when at present we do not know IF there are sapient aliens out there somewhere, and if there are we have not yet met them and inquired as to their religious beliefs?

No data, no answer.

Meh. The desire to engage in speculation has gotten the better of me. :D

Yes, I believe it is possible there may be sapient aliens somewhere in the universe. Can't prove it but it seems probable.

As a Christian, my assumption would be that if God brought an extra-terrestrial sapient race into being, that He would have provided for them some means of salvation. The details may vary quite a bit, since we're talking aliens here, whose fundamental nature might be very different from our own.

I'd think it would be extremely presumptuous, if not nonsensical, to try to evangelize them into a human religion, or vice-versa.

I agree with your assumption, Goshin, and this is because my belief is in an omnipotent Creator with an infinite imagination. Who knows what-all He's about? We see only through the glass darkly, through the prism of our own limits of comprehension.

I believe that God is the creator of everything. It's why speculation about their very existence, while entertaining, holds no real appeal for me. The universe holds exactly whatever He wants in it.

Who knows? Maybe we are meant to be that means of salvation for the entire universe.

Wow. Talk about a speculative leap. :D

Let's say that was the case. Something like....

In the Book of Stuff That Happens Later, Squee the Forethoughtful (blessed be his tentacles!) said "One day, a long time from now, some little pink people will come from the sky. Many of them will be gorkwads who want to buy ocean front property with beads, but some will teach you the True Religion!"

(sorry, I couldn't resist :) )

I don't see how it would be any different for any others......moreover, besides a couple of the Abrahamic Religions.....there have been many others who all are saying the same thing. About how mankind looks like the GODS.

Which if this is the case.....then we might not even know one was standing Right next to us.

I didn't really quite get your meaning. Are you saying an alien or a "god" might be standing right next to us unrecognized?

Well I look at this way.....many civilizations talk about the Gods Plural. Coming down from the Sky to them.....now I don't think it was GOD Almighty or the Creator of all things. Which is not to say that GOD or the Creator couldn't appear as we do.

But they could be us.....in a more Advanced form. But still Humanoid. Which if those from other civilizations.....mistook them for being Gods due to the tech they had. Then Advancing even more.....just like we have.

Then we wouldn't even know when one was around unless it made itself known.....or by some rare fortune to witness such.

god help the universe then is all i can say.

Repent ye tentacled heathens!!!! GOD WILLS IT!!!!!

Oh, it'd be a "hard sell" to be sure.

However, when you think about it, does it really make any less sense than sending Christ to the Jews exclusively here on Earth, and having Christianity spread out from there?

Aliens don't need our religion, they have their own, or not....

Some people claim that Jesus of Nazareth was an alien himself...

There aren't any extra terrestrials.

Really?
Billions of galaxies, billions of stars in each galaxy.
I think the odds are that there are extra terrestrials.
However, given the astronomical--really--distances involved, it's doubtful we'll ever meet any ETs.

Hopefully God created aliens after humans. Sort of a second try since we seem to be going to hell in a hand basket.

Shoot first and ask religious questions later. If we run into aliens it won't be because they're on vacation. I don't know why we didn't put lasers in space like the Gipper wanted.

How do you know we didn't?
