My question would be, is there ever a time when God is not at work? I pretty much expect it's always the case, in one way or another. Often, it's nothing that most people would even notice. To me, God can't be relegated to just one religion. It's the same thing, no matter your belief system, and the reality of it is in the perception of the individual. As long as there is movement and motion, it's working.

So is the spread of Islam an example of God at Work too?

Of course, as indicated....I'm referring to Christianity.

And yes, Lizzie, you're right, God is always at work. But of course, I speak as a Christian who believes her God is the One and Only God.

This thread highlights the works of God in places deemed risky to be a Christian - which a lot of us could take for granted since we've never lived it - where conversion could be a matter of life and death.

Mosab Hassan Yousef

Mosab Hassan Yousef (later Joseph) [2] was born in Ramallah, a city 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) north of Jerusalem. His father, Sheikh Hassan Yousef, was a Hamas founder and leader who spent many years in Israeli prisons.[2][3][7] He is the oldest of five brothers and three sisters.

Yousef claims that his doubts about Islam and Hamas began forming when he realized Hamas' brutality, and that he hated how Hamas used the lives of suffering civilians and children to achieve their goals.[2] Yousef was held by Shin Bet agents in 1996. He claims that while in prison, he was shocked by Shin Bet's interrogation methods which he considered humane, when compared to how Hamas operatives tortured imprisoned suspected collaborators.[10] He decided to accept a Shin Bet approach to become an informant.[11]

In 1999, Yousef met a British missionary who introduced him to Christianity.[2] Between the years 1999 and 2000, Yousef gradually embraced Christianity. In 2005, he was secretly baptized in Tel Aviv by a Christian tourist. He left the West Bank for the United States in 2007 and lived some time in San Diego, California, where he joined the Barabbas Road Church.[2]

In August 2008, Yousef publicly revealed his Christianity and renounced Hamas and the Arab leadership, thereby endangering himself and exposing his family in Ramallah to persecution.[2] Yousef has also claimed that his aim was to bring peace to the Middle East. He still hopes to return to Israel when there is peace.[2]

TUNISIA

Tunisia experienced rapid and drastic changes after the Arab Spring first erupted in this North-African country last year.

But Christians have seen an unprecedented spiritual openness in the country and see discipleship as the biggest need for this moment.

The Tunisian church had already undergone many changes over the last fifteen years. Until the end of last century there were only underground house groups of Christians active in this North-African country. Now churches choose to be visible, something that is not appreciated by everyone. Last year, the church experienced a lot of growth outside the capital, Tunis.

“Coming more to the surface seems to have strengthened the Christians. Self-awareness grew and the level of fear went down. Now you can see during the Saturday services interested people coming in from the street, attracted by curiosity of what is going on in the churches. We see Church engaging with society. Groups of Christians meet in several smaller cities in Tunisia”, explains an Open Doors fieldworker. Tunisian Christians are seeing a strong response to the gospel. “I heard of people accepting Christ in escaping teargas”, the fieldworker says.

are you suggesting that there is something wrong with Muslims educating themselves and their children about their faith?

Are you suggesting that the deceptive actions of the Christians are good?

I'm saying that Christianity is booming in foreign places.

Muslims claim hundreds of thousands are converting in Middle East after ‘Jesus appears in visions and dreams’

“I am one of those people who believed I should kill others. I wanted to kill my own wife because she did not cover her hair,” one man says. “But now I have so much peace. I never had peace.”

Muslims are claiming that without reading the Bible, without anyone trying to proselytize them, without the presence of any priest or knowing any Christians, without attending or even seeing any Churches, more and more of them are having ‘visions and dreams’ of the Christian Jesus (or Isa as they know Jesus) ‘calling for them’. This must be a dream come true for Christian proselytizers.

This surge of Jesus visions and experiences in the Middle East has created a wave of “hundreds of thousands” of Muslims silently converting to Christianity each year, according to the report.

Forget about hundreds and thousands. In fact, we have seen collected statistics of measured participation of millions of Muslims that are secretly converting in Arabia and following Christian materials. We were stunned by the sheer volume. We won’t reveal how huger the numbers are or the exact locations due to the violent persecution of Christians in the Muslim world right now. This is the reason behind the sudden explosion of violence against Christians happening right, to try and end this wave of voluntary conversions. And no one is proselytizing them. They claim they have some kind of “mysterious” calling.

His testimony - see video time, 20:18 - about a woman surfing the channel is reminiscent of how that happened to me!

How I got glued to the tv, and Pastor Charles Price, became instrumental to my re-discovering Jesus!

Problems won't own you. You'll have peace. In Christ.

Amen.

Suspected Witches Burned Alive by Christians in Kenya, Africa
Growing desires for land along Kenya’s Indian Ocean coastline are allegedly causing a rise in ‘witch lynchings’ by residents to intimidate their elderly relatives who own the title deeds of desirable areas.

Sadaka Muruu, 100, who owns 12 acres of sought-after land in coastal Kilifi county, claimed she was told by her grandchildren that they would burn her alive after investors asked about purchasing it.

The frightened grandmother was allegedly dragged naked from her home in January by relatives who had turned up without notice, and told neighbours they had caught her doing witchcraft.

Well, your "saying" is irrelevant! What's that got to do with the topic?

......And there were the Inquisition, and Residential Schools, and pedophiles, and what other atrocities done in the name of Christianity.

But, is that Christianity? No.

Anyone who has even basic knowledge of the teachings of Christ knows that those are against the Christian doctrine.

Again, that would be like Kim Jong Un imprisoning and torturing all his political opponents and claiming that he's doing it for democracy. Will you believe and swallow that?

The dilemma facing mortals---33,000 religions claiming to be Christian---One speaks truth--Jesus' truths. the rest are this-2 Corinthians 11:12-15)
Does one have time to check each in a single lifetime--no--but they do have time to study Jesus true teachings and they easily point to the one single religion that Jesus is with.

Culture strongly affects how people behave in very different places in the world. That's why you might see someone murdered cruelly in the streets because of their beliefs, for not having committed any crime at all. It's shocking to know that other people would watch and not stop this from happening, maybe even approve of it. I think that's because their culture is inherently so violent and life is not respected. The lord teaches, thou shalt not kill, but there are many who claim to uphold a religion in name but not in deeds.

I used to think all religions were more or less equal. For years I studied the religions of mankind, through descriptive books and their holy writings, and even talking to people about their religion. I've talked to devout muslims about Allah and their prayers. I met some followers of Krishna at one of their outdoor festivals, and we talked about their veneration of cows. Although I still admire all people who believe there is a creator, "God", I feel Christianity teaches some things that make it stand out among all the world religions. Namely, the core concepts of mercy and forgiveness. Even if you have gone astray or made mistakes in your life, which everyone does at some point, with Christianity there is a chance for redemption. It gives hope when all other roads lead nowhere. For those who have come to what seems like the bitter end, Jesus offers the way out.

God never had more than one single religion--Why would he--One truth, one faith, one God= one religion---same as in the ot. These are a worldwide brotherhood, united under our king Jesus and our God Jehovah, in love and peace.

Check what each?

There are ways for knowing which is The Truth. Our conscience, is one of them.
Of course one can suppress or ignore his conscience until it hardly matters anymore.

When a person accepts Jesus and truly believes in Him, the person undergoes a, "TRANSFORMATION."

Repentance means not only being sorry for what he's done, but it also means, change.
His thoughts and actions will reflect Christ. It is actually a sudden change.
You don't need more than one lifetime - you don't have more than one!

The difficult part is maintaining it, since Satan will do his best to try to deceive you, to tempt you, and lead you astray.

Satan uses people and other things to confuse us. He likes to plant the seeds of doubt.
The best way to know if your understanding of a Biblical verse is right, is in comparing it with other messages in the Bible. IF IT CONFLICTS IN ANY WAY WITH THE BIBLE....YOU BET, THAT'S NOT THE RIGHT INTERPRETATION.

Prayer or communicating with God is very vital. So is reading and re-reading the Bible.
It keeps you with God. Keeps you grounded firmly. You are made stronger by them.
God is the best support you'll ever need.
