The process to choose a successor to Cardinal Francis George has begun.
The Chicago Archdiocese announced Thursday that George was informed by Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, papal nuncio to the United States, that the process of consulting to identify the next archbishop of Chicago has started. It is expected to be completed in late fall.
Process starts to find Cardinal George
I had the honor of being welcomed into the Church by Cardinal George a few years back. Having had the wonderful opportunity to meet with him and share in several conversations with him, I can say he has a mind matched by few. For such a small frame and frail figure he exudes an uncanny strength..
He'll always be in my prayers and I can only hope he finds peace and comfort in the coming trials he faces ahead.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
God Bless, Cardinal...you surely have.
That being said, I can only hope though I doubt it will happen, as he just took over the Archbishop seat of Philadelphia not too long ago that Archbishop Charles Chaput gets the red galero and comes to Chicago.
We need more men like Cardinal George and Archbishop Chaput in the Church and in the world.
Anyone else have any suggestions?
Please, keep it respectful...
