I recently remembered this. It was about 10 year ago a traveling preacher with long hair and beard, dressed in a white robe came through a little town I was living in. It caused a big uproar and debate in the community, and the guy was eventually arrested. I looked around on google, and I found an article on the same person.

I remember seeing the story in the local news, and hearing different views on this man's religious work. His goal was to travel across the US and spread a message about God as a street preacher. Some people felt ashamed that the town arrested him, because they felt he was being persecuted as a person bringing the message of god. Other people thought it was fair to arrest him, and felt uncomfortable with him being a homeless/vagabond and seeing many teens, especially young girls interested and curious in him, questioning him, and following him.

What is your opinion on his work? Do think it is controversial? Would it make you uncomfortable if such a person were in your community?

Why any police officer would bother to arrest him is beyond me. Its America he can go were he pleases. It is sad that a Christian church threw him out of the church and called the cops. I wonder if he was being that disruptive or they didn't want him there. Hopefully he fairs well else where. Oh well. He seems harmless why bug him.

There's an old guy who showed up periodically for years in his tricked-out, hand-painted old car. Flags mounted on the hood--the works. He'd park somewhere allowed and paint crosses he carried with him with the names of your loved ones. Eccentric, of course, but perfectly harmless and utterly sincere. Bless him, wherever he is.

They may have thrown him in jail, but at least they didn't crucify him. Just look at all the progress mankind has made in the past 2,000 years!

He was charged with possession of a forgery device.

That is what is called chicken**** policing.

They had no valid reason to even stop him, let alone search him. If that was his only means of identifying himself, then the "forgery" charge is bull****.
Nothing but harassment

On the flip side, he could be the Son of God and we'd be too busy watching Mad Men to notice.

What is a forgery device? A pen?

I think he was arrested for being a vagabond where I used to live... but I know he was arrested, and all charges were dropped, and then he walked out of town and went on his way.

Jesus didn't dress like some guy who lived in 2000 BC, he dressed like a regular guy from his era and area, he also had his hair and beard like a regular guy from that time period and area.

I'm just saying.
