VATICAN CITY (AP) -- Pope Francis has given a lift to two lucky kids during his general audience in St. Peter's Square.

A particularly jovial Francis hopped off his white, open-air car Wednesday to greet a group of fifth graders from Perugia who presented him with a T-shirt from their school. Seemingly joking, Francis asked if any of them wanted to take a spin through the square.

"Me! Me! Me!" they yelled.

Francis picked 11-year-olds Livio Bastianelli and Davide Maria Bianchi and the two hopped aboard.

Winning the hearts and minds...

I sincerely like this Pope. Can't remember another one quite like him.

I was just talking to my wife, a cradle catholic, about the difference allot of the times between protestants and catholics (myself a catholic convert) and ho Catholics get everything right but lack in the "feel good" department a lot of times. Now, it isn't obviously all about the "feel good" but it is an ingredient which is too often forgotten.

Wouldn't Jesus have given kids a lift if he had wheels?

He is a slight improvement from his predecessor, the Nazi Pope.

Bite your tongue. You speak of things you know nothing about.

You realize that he risked his life by deserting the German Army? And he never attended a meeting of the Hitler youth?
