Most of the ones I know (which are many), believe that you pray TO God, "in Jesus' name".

The pictures and images (I suspect) became common place when early Christians were converting pagans, but Jesus was once just considered just one of the Roman Gods, so it's pretty likely there were already statues and other images of worship by the time a major conversion happened.

They believe in hell, because the New Testament is the primary source of the doctrine of Christianity itself.

As to the "island" question, it seems to vary from one individual to the other. Some believe that nobody except a Christian will go to heaven when they die. Others believe that only those who have been exposed, and then rejected, are doomed to hell.

I can't say that I personally know any Christians who believe in reincarnation. I am a former Christian, and have significant tendency toward that belief as of about 30 years ago.

Your question #6- I have no idea. I've never heard it discussed, or seen evidence of anyone questioning it.

Different Christian sects and denominations seem to have slightly varying beliefs on going to heaven. Some believe that you need to repent of your sins, and accept Jesus as a personal savior. Some believe that physical baptism is required. The more moderate denominations seem much more relaxed with regard to what the requirements are, and their approach seems to be more philosophical than doctrinal.

1. Jesus is God incarnate. Jesus had given instructions on how to pray when He taught us The Lord's Prayer - the prayer is directed to His Father.
He also shown through examples when He prayed - to His Father. I pray to the Father, and I also pray to Jesus to intercede.
And yes, we pray to God, in Jesus' name.

2. I don't.

3. Hell - or the place that's designated for those who will not be saved - is mentioned several times in the Bible.
Daniel 12:2-3; Math 13: 41, 50; Matt 25:41; Matt 25:46; Rev 14: 9-11; Rev 20:10 Rev 20: 14-15; Mark 9: 42-48

4. The Bible is not clear about that. What happens to them is entirely up to God.

5. No, we don't believe in reincarnation. Hebrew 9:27 negates reincarnation.
Hebrew 9:27 And just as people are appointed to die once, and then to face judgment
When we die, it's just a temporary "sleep." We await the second coming of Jesus, and all the dead will rise up to be judged.

6. He is God. He can choose to do anything. He has His own purpose, He follows His own timetable.

7. Jesus Christ. That's why it is called Christianity. Jesus is the only Way. In order to be saved, you have to believe Jesus is the Son of God and our Saviour (the promised Messiah from the OT). If you believe in Jesus, you'll also believe in God.

This is the tv Evangelist who was instrumental in bringing me back to Christ and in reading the Bible. He explains the Bible verses in layman's terms that it is easy to understand.
He makes reading and understanding the Bible seem so easy.....

Living Truth: Daily Devotional

Also, if you can get a Bible that has Bible study footnotes - which explains the passages, and also explain the cultures and practices of the time for better understanding. I recommend the New King James version.

Jesus is the "Word of God". John 1 says this. That scripture also says that everything was created by Him and through Him. Which means He is God incarnate. God is represented in three persons... The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. One God as proved when Jesus said that He had to go to the Father so that He could send the "Comforter" (the Holy Spirit).

This is due to paganism. But to further explain. We, as Christians, are not under the law. In fact, those that are gentiles, were never supposed to be exposed to the law.

I think Hell was mentioned in the OT. But Jesus Himself referred to Hell in His parable of "the rich man and Lazarus". That is why we believe in Hell.

I think (not written in scripture) that God probably will judge those that haven't heard by their conscience. I also believe that He will give them the chance to believe when they see Him. The big question here is... Was what Jesus did more powerful than what Adam did when he sinned? If, by one man all died due to his one sin, how is it that what Jesus did, being sinless and righteous, not able to save all men from destruction?

No Christian I have ever met believes in reincarnation.

The OT was Gods way of teaching man what sin was. When Adam sinned, we all became sinners. It is interesting to note that there was only ONE command for Adam and Eve to follow. "Don't eat the fruit of tree of the knowledge of good and evil". Adam and Eve decided they wanted to be "like God". As soon as they did it, they hid themselves because they were naked. Before they ate it, it was okay to be naked! Now it is sinful to be naked in front of others because it causes temptation. God instituted the law to teach men what sin was and that there was no possible way for us to be perfectly sinless. We NEED Him and His righteousness.

The scriptures are very clear... "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved".

I can look up the scriptural references if you want me to.

1)Do Christians pray to Jesus or god?because according to the bible you can only pray to god
We hold that Jesus and God are one, so praying to either is praying to both, so praying to either either is ok.

2)Why do Christians hold that statues and pictures of Jesus when the bible clearly says not to hold any photos or sculputers of humans or animals?
A very good question. As a christian I would like an answer to this as well.

4)lets say a person who is born on an island and never heard about jesus or anything,he will also go to hell?(because judaism got a solution for it).
That's for God to decide, not me.

5)Dp Christians believe in reincarnation?
Nope.

6)why god waited all that time to make a messiah and not right away? why we needed the OT?
I neither know nor care. It is what it is. I can't change the past.

7)In Christianity in order to go to heaven you need to believe in Jesus or only in god?
Both.

i am not a native english speaker so sorry
No worries.

thanks every one

i have more questions

1)why christians dsoent keep the shabbet day?its the 4 most important commetment
2)what christians think about the the kings of israel and judea?(people of god?)
3)the temple of solomon is holy for christians?(because many christians from europe come to israel to that place to pray but i dont know if it is holy for them)
if the third temple will be built(which is probably impossible) would it be also a holy place for christianity?

6)why god wated all that time to make a messiach and not right away?why we needed the OT?

The Old Testament is a history of the Jewish people and who they interacted with. The Old Covenant was based on the law. The consequences of obeying God or disobeying him are noted in Deuteronomy chapter 28.

IMO, the Messiah was saved until later because the Jewish people had to see how they fared under the law. And God had to show them that salvation via keeping the law was impossible. Nobody could do it. They had to learn that lesson first. Then God (Jesus) appeared as the Messiah with salvation by grace through faith in himself to show that "Mercy triumphs over judgment" (James 2:13).

7)in christianity in order to go to heaven you need to belive in jesus or only in god?

Jesus is God and now you need to believe in him for salvation (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, John 3:36, etc.).

but according to the bible you are being judged by the good and bad things you do
also in judaism there is no hell
just after life and heaven
and many jews belive in reincarnation and that give the answer to the "man living on island and going to hell because he never knew about religion"
also that give the answer why kids sometimes die(because of sins from life before)

1) To God, in Jesus name.
2) I dont have a statue or pictures
3) I dont in a hot place, but seperation from God.
4) I personally do not believe a kind and forgiving God would condemn someone because of the geographical location of birth.
5) No
6)Above my pay grade
7) Jesus.

I have trouble with English too. But I dont have any excuses.

"Works" bring rewards or discipline from the Lord, not salvation (1 Corinthians 3:11-15). Righteousness / salvation has always been by faith in God (Genesis 15:6, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans chapter 3).

also in judaism there is no hell

Then name the place where the dead awake to shame and everlasting contempt (Daniel 12:2)?

and many jews belive in reincarnation and that give the answer to the "man living on island and going to hell because he never knew about religion"

Some Jews believe in all sorts of things, so? However, reincarnation is not taught in the Bible (Hebrews 9:27).

I'm confused by #1 as well. Seems to me that praying to Jesus violates the 1st Commandment: ""I am The Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me." (Exodus 20:2-3 RSV)

1. We do. For most Christians, it's observed on Sunday.

2. Some are.

After the death of Solomon, the kingdom was divided. Ten tribes formed the Northern Kingdom, called Israel; Judah and Benjamin formed the Southern Kingdom, called Judah. The date of the division of the kingdom is approximately 931 B.C. The following dates are approximate, due to overlapping reigns, associated sovereignty, intervals of anarchy and parts of years referred to as full years. Some of the reigns were, in part, concurrent. All the kings of Israel practiced idolatry; the worst served Baal. Many of the kings of Judah served idols; few served Jehovah faithfully. Some bad kings were partly good; some good kings partly bad.
Read more: Who were the kings of Israel and Judah?

3. It is significant to Christians in the sense that it was God who directed Solomon to build it.
Some Christians - like me - believe that our body is the temple of God (because of the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit in us).

There is a New Covenant in the NT.

Jeremiah 31:31-34

A New Covenant

31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,[a] says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Jews do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. They are not Christians.

1. Jesus is God

2. The bible doesn't say not to have statues in fact God gives this instruction on making the ark of the covenant:

Exodus 25:18-22 18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. 20 The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. 21 And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. 22 There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.

3. Christians follow the bible which includes what happens after Jesus. Depending on which Christian you talk to you'll get different responses about hell on what it is and in what way it exists.

4. As a Catholic Christian I believe that salvation is attainable to those who do not know Christ through no fault of their own. From the Catechism of the Catholic Church: "Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337" Catechism of the Catholic Church - PART 1 SECTION 2 CHAPTER 3 ARTICLE 9 PARAGRAPH 3

5. Most don't.

6. I don't think God really needs to do anything. Why he does what he does in certain instances is a good question.

7. Salvation is attainable to others from my perspective as a Catholic. I'm in full agreement with the Catholic Church on this issue, I provided a link to what the Church says regarding salvation so feel free to check it out in order to get a more in depth response.

1) Jesus and God are the same being, the same entity. Jesus is God in human form and we are able to pray to God because our sins were atoned for with the saccrifice of Jesus. We pray "in Jesus name" because by that name we are able to go before the father sinless.

2) I do not hold statues of Jesus or any other religious figure. The Bible says not to have idols or idolize images. Some people may have statues or things to remind them of Biblical principals and encourage them, but anyone that believes the image or statue is holy or somehow a reflection of God is committing idolatry.

3) The Old Testament does mention hell. In Old Testament times it mentions Sheol, of which there was paradise (for the righteous under the Law) and a place of punishment. The parable of the rich man and Lazarus is an example of this divide. The rich man was in torment while Lazarus was in paradise. When Jesus atoned for sin on the cross, paradise was brought into heaven. The Bible also teaches that those being punished right now in "hell" will be sent to the true hell with Satan and the demons on the day of judgement. Essentially, the lost are being held for judgement day where they will then be sent to hell for all eternity along with Satan and the demons.

4) I'm not sure, the Bible says that those who are not forgiven of their sins through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus die and are accountable for their sin and judged for that, meaning eternal hell. Many believe in a component of grace for children that aren't old enough to understand, this may apply to people that have never heard the truth of salvation. What we do know is God judges the heart, and those that do know the story of Christ and chose to reject it will be judged accordingly and having their sin judged and not forgiven (hell).

5) No, reincarnation is not in the Bible. When you die, you are sent to heaven if your sin is forgiven under the atonement of Christ or you are judged for it and sent to hell.

6) Why wouldn't God wait? God provided provision for righteousness through the Law of Moses which was fulfilled by Jesus' atoning sacrifice. It was God's plan to set up the law and have Israel be a symbol of righteousness for the world as God's chosen people. He was also to send a Messiah to fulfill the law. We are finite beings, we cannot comprehend the mind of God in full detail. We look at animals with their limited understanding and in much the same way we are like that in comparison to God. An animal doesn't know why the sky is blue or comprehend higher things. In much the same way we are also limited in our comprehension. God gives us truth, and we are in no place to try and rationalize or understand God's plan when our minds are severely limited. Truth must be accepted, God tells us what we need to know. The fact of the Trinity, or being both God and man in the form of Jesus is beyond us. We believe in beings that can only exist as individual entities. God also is eternal, meaning He never had a beginning or a point of creation. For us, as finite creatures, that cannot be fully comprehended and simply must be accepted.

7) To go to heaven you have to believe in Jesus and repent of sin. The Bible says even Satan and the demons believe in Jesus. The key is repenting of sin and having it forgiven. Part of the reason heaven and hell exist is because God is Holy and Just. As a Holy and Just God, He must judge sin and cannot have sin in His presence. To judge sin is to be separated from God and tormented for eternity through that separation in hell. Literally, it is to be rejected by God and cast away because your sin cannot be in the presence of a Holy God. Since God is Just there is a standard. It isn't relative or based on personal perceptions of "good." Sin is explained in the Bible, such behaviors and actions are God's absolute standard for what is wrong. All people must be held to the same standard as is just. The reason we can be forgiven is because an atoning sacrifice was made. God came to earth as Jesus and lived a sinless life. He was sinless and thus not subject to judgement. He chose to die on the cross, and on the cross Jesus was actually rejected by God when he took the sin of the world upon him. God Himself took sin upon himself and died so that sin may be pardoned due to an atoning sacrifice. This is why sin may be forgiven, because the judgement it demands has already taken place. God extends the grace of forgiveness to those that repent in Jesus name (after all, that is the atoning sacrifice). Those who do not will not have their sin forgiven and will be subject to fair judgement of that (eternal hell).

1. Jesus is God.
2. It doesn't, it prohibits the worship of such images.
3. Actually it is mentioned in the OT, Daniel 12 for instance.
4. Simply put, he will be judged based on his observance of the natural law.
5. No.
6. I don't know.
7. Objectively, believing in Christ is a grave moral obligation, however one could still be saved if one was, without negligence, ignorant of Christ's divinity.

thanks every one

1. Jesus fulfilled the Sabbath. Christians celebrate the Lord's day on Sunday.
2. They were the leaders of the people of God at the time.
3. No.

We do, but we use Sunday. I believe this began when Pope Gregory introduced the modern calendar.

Sunday as the Christian holy day goes back to the apostolic age. The Gregorian calendar was made in order to fix long-term seasonal drift in the Julian.
