In my opinion, it should not have been banned from The Bible, as it goes a long way further in explaining Genesis Chapter Six — the days of Noah:

Wikipedia: The Book of Enoch.

Wikipedia: The Grigori.

Wikipedia: Nephilim.

What do you think?

Interesting. I've heard people like Perry Stone give speeches about the Biblical Zodiac (not to be confused with astrology, which is a pseudoscience).

I'll take a look at your links. Thanks for sharing!

p.s. Just did a search and found a debate forum that goes into some detail on why the book has a number of issues.

Our God is a God of numbers.

Check this out, too. It is the best link I have ever seen on the Net which explains the significance of numbers to God:

God Counts: Biblical Numerics and Their Meanings.

Book of Enoch

That link is indeed very helpful.

For instance, it says:

8) Enoch chapter 7 teaches that the giants, who were created by Angels mating with humans, were 450 feet tall! That's as tall as the Washington monument, and over half the length of the titanic. That's 10 times taller than the largest known dinosaur skeleton ever found. How could human women birth creatures of this size?

Apparently there was a lot of hearsay in The Book.

You think astrology is legitimate?

Whoa. Religion forum. Lachean probably can't give an honest answer to that without violating RF rules. :doh

He should stop trolling the forum then, yes?

It's not banned from the bible ... it's a second Century BC book written way way way after the hebrew bible was already compiled and cannonized..... Jude (in the NT) quotes from it, but that doesn't mean it belongs in the bible.

I'ts like asking why Dantes Inferno was "banned from the bible" it's a rediculous idea.

John Pratt is an expert on ancient calendars and has a lot of interesting things to say about the Book of Enoch:

I think that the bright star labelled at the bottom is very important, and must never be treated lightly or frivolously, or made the subject of jokes or mockery.
