A while back I came upon this Christian radio broadcast and listened every now and then to the host, Hank Hanegraaff. In most cases I found Hank's answers to callers' questions concerning the words of God were pretty much according to the scriptures. He also tends to show a very objective perspective that is not given to emotion. The humbleness of his disposition and the soothing calmness of his confident voice also provide reassurance to the faithful.

On the scriptural ground I have no issue with his teaching. But, I once had an issue with his take on the Israeli and the Palestinian conflict. In one broadcast he sided with the Palestinian plight and faulted Israel. I then sent him a note on his website about my opinion but received no reply. I didn't know whether he had addressed my note in his subsequent broadcasts since I didn't always get to follow all his broadcast.

As such, I kind of felt unhappy that there wasn't even a reply through the email. So, I just stopped listening to his broadcast. As time passed I sort of eased up my discontentment and acknowledged to myself that as long as his teaching is in accord with the Scriptures, he is entitled to his opinion on Israeli-Palestinian conflict issue.

So, I began to listen to his broadcasts with special interest in his exposition and exegesis of the scripture. In one broadcast he was asking for the faithful to help him close a critical funding gap in order to keep the Christian broadcast going. Frankly, I don't understand any of the financial stuffs regarding the funding gap or annual budget. But, I felt compelled to support this Christian broadcast. So, for three months or so I sent him my contributions. The recent letter I received said they are facing a funding gap of $590,000 as of December, 16. As such, I followed with my contribution for December.

Then somehow in early December i began to have trouble getting the signal. And now I completely cannot get the broadcast in any of my radio frequency. Even though I now cannot follow the broadcast, I still believe his teaching is Biblically sound.

I would like to hear from Christians here regarding CRI and/or Hank Hanegraaf. What do you think about the broadcast and Hank. Is there anything you know that I don't? Do you feel his teaching is Biblically sound for the most part?

If you want to contribute to his funding gap you can do so at his website by googlng CRI or his name. Or mail to: Christian Research Institute, P.O. Box 8500, Charlotte, NC 28271-8500

I can tell you he gives a very dishonest and inaccurate portrayal of Mormonism to his followers. If it was me, I wouldn't be sending that man any money.

He has a lot of good, Biblically-based views and articles. You can call them up and ask for a paper on, say, Justification by Faith, and they'll send it to you. They have a lot of good resources. They'll sometimes ask for a small donation but you don't have to give it.

How does he characterize the Mormon faith and its followers?

Inquiring sharts want to know.
