Why Do Religions Recruit ?

Somewhere in between 10 and 20 thousand years yes.

And what exactly is lack of education on the subject? Could you show me where my statements were wrong or misguided?

I'm afraid I do not see the point in continuing if you only believe the Earth to be that young. If you were correct, that means every chemist and physicist alive today is wrong, and all of the science they practice is wrong. What a grand conspiracy.

No that's not true. The earth, like Adam, was created with Age.

It doesn't even say that in the bible. It doesn't say that anywhere.

That is an after-the-fact justification those like you have come up with so you can hold onto your false belief. As more and more science explains more and more mystery, the crazier the stories have to get to keep god in the mix and "necessary."

Should I also go ahead and assume you read the Watchtower, and believe that heliocentricity is a myth? Or do you find that concept just sort of silly?

Pretty sure Adam wasn't created an infant. He would have to have an earth with Age to survive, so yes, the Bible does explain that.

Pretty sure Adam wasn't created. But, you know, that's just science talking.

The bible says nothing about an Earth "with age." This is called "filling in the gaps with anything I want so I can continue to believe the crazy things I've always believed."

Do you understand how your internet connection works? Or is it perhaps an ongoing miracle that doesn't deserve an additional explanation.

Your spin and severe misinterpretation.

Tis a Christian's duty at the end of the day to "spread the gospel" when given the chance, of course, if the person they are speaking to rejects it, they should probably back off. Also, it's nice to share something that brings you peace and joy with another person. Has nothing to do with self-validation or anything like that -- zero, zilch, nada.

It could be out of insecurity or validation, or part of the dogma to proselytize... but I take the Penn Jillette stance on this:

"How much do you have to hate somebody to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that? If I believed beyond a shadow of a doubt that a truck was coming at you and you didn't believe it... there is a certain point that I tackle you... and this is MORE important than that."

I understand why they proselytize, it's a tenant of their religion. When I turn them down, it's like they think I must not WANT salvation. You could offer me a million dollars in the back of a van, and if I don't think it exists, I'm not going to be sold on any deal you propose. So, the issue isn't with what you're offering me, it's that I simply don't believe it exists. That's the big issue and the misconception that most religious people seem to hold about others; most people HAVE heard your story before and they're just rejecting it. If this was a remote island filled with people who had never heard of your views, I'd be all for the value of proselytizing to them. But, this is frikin' America; you are just the ten thousandth preacher man to confront me with my "ignorance", trying to tell me that I'm going to burn in hell if I don't agree with you. I'm an atheist because I read the bible, and didn't believe it.
