Simple question. If you were born and raised an Islamic society, do you think you would be Christian?

It's a hard question to answer since it's all hypothetical.

My persona story is that I was raised Christian. I became an atheist and then held other religious beliefs and later accepted Christianity. My Christian beliefs are not the same as my parents and I do not go to the same church as them.

I guess it's all to say that I chose my own faith as a Christian, I didn't accept the same beliefs as my parents' and made a personal decision to be a Christian. I would suspect that if I was raised in an Islamic society I would also chose Christianity.

I'm intrigued that you were once an atheist but later accepted Christianity. I always considered it (atheism) a one-way door, for reasons I won't elaborate on.

I'm bit sceptical for a number of reasons, but as you say it is hypothetical. Religion is largely culturally driven, and those who find religion tend to gravitate towards the dominant religion of their society. As you said, you were raised Christian, and although you diverged from your parents, you did end up with some variation of Christianity (rather than, say, Buddhism).

I am not trying to insult, and you could very well be the exception to the rule.

....or a terrorist. :2razz:

If my parents were, then yes. If my parents were not, I doubt I would be Muslim.

I must admit, that I would've been a muslim. However, inevitably, all religious beliefs would've eventually led to atheism for me.

Probably not, but there are a few Christian minorities in Muslim societies.

That's happening all over Islamic societies!

These videos answered your question. So, if I were born and raised in an Islamic Society, I could be a Christian, most likely for the same reason(s) why these Muslims converted to Christianity.
