Cyrus didn't allow all the the Jews to return to to Jerusalem, he allowed SOME Jews to return and that was because he just defeated the Babylonians and was looking to gain favor with with specific subsets of the Babylonian population because he needed spies and intel.

This is the thing about christians, they are as abysmally ignorant of the history of their own religion as they are of history in general.

One man's salvation is another's chance occurrence. If you pray for enough stuff eventually one will happen due to nothing other then odds but the devout will ignore all the misfires and apply the one positive outcome to divine intervention.
