Since this is the traditional day of Jesus' death, I remembered this teaching I read a few years ago. Some may find it interesting.

The Day Jesus Died

And the actual day on which he died is relevant to anything, why? This smacks of debates on the number of angels able to dance on the head of a pin.

It's three actually. It's not limited by size of the angels so much as the vigorousness of their dance. More than that and it would look like a cross between a mosh pit and pinball machine.

What I didn't realize is that there was more than one Sabbath. I'm not an expert on Jewish Sabbaths, but it does make sense if you're a literalist that Jesus was 3 days and 3 nights in the earth. I'm not arguing for it, I just remembered it, being Good Friday and all.

No one knows....

Neither, I just saw him at the liquor store buying some wine...

Thanks for further trivializing this thread. You should be proud of yourself.

Not to you, apparently, just an opportunity for a cheap-shot mock.

I can't see how it's a serious question, even to biblical literalists. If it were, why wouldn't the date of the crucifixion be relevant too, and why would it be celebrated on a different date every year, and on different dates by orthodox, catholic and copts? Is there any evidence it took place around Passover? And why is it not commemorated at the same time, relative to Passover every year? I'm not mocking the celebration of Easter, even though I'm no longer a christian, but the question seems merely semantic and abstruse.

i think he is still alive

Nevermind.

Hello

There is no real way to know this. the hebrews had a lunar calander and later the Romans had the Julian. In the time of Jesus, teh Roman calendar was different from both.

Also remember that both Christmas and Easter began as pagan holidays. the early church used these days to make it easier for thier pagan converts to assimilate into their new religion.

Thanks

He died on Friday. When ancient Jews counted days they counted the first and last day, so Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

he was born in a summer day
