Biblically, life begins at birth

The belief that life begins at conception is the notion that sperm is more important than a living woman.

This is biggest blatantly bull**** statement I've every heard. It's called trolling too.

He mentioned several passages. None from Genesis.

Perhaps you should get a copy of the bible before posting nonsense.

Really...what's the first word in the first quoted passage?

But the soul is separate from the body until first breath.

So... Again, perhaps more careful reading and thought would help before you just post random unrelated nonsense.

Which is why I'm saying they are two different things. Besides, you are and OP are overlooking the quotes that say life is in the blood, among other things.

Perhaps you should stop trying to insult me and think a little.

Which quotes?

Be sure to use the Catholic bible, and please include some context. When was it specific book written, who wrote it, and why did he write it (e.g. letter to romans)

What do embryologists say about when human life begins?

Lol, have you followed such strict guidelines in your "rebuttals", I think not.

And you forgot to answer my question: What is the first word in the OP?

What do embryologists say about when human life begins?

well, a true scientist understands that life....is a continuum that began billions of years ago and continues through each of us.

from sperm & egg...to ZEF....to sperm & egg again...life truly began with the first life form on Earth, billions of years ago.

as to when HUMANITY begins, that's kinda up to one's interpretation of humanity.

And a logical person understands that a new and distinct individual life is created at conception.

No, a person with a distinct viewpoint believes that life begins at conception.

We're not talking about logic, we're talking about religion.

We're not talking about logic, we're talking about religion.

Which, to clarify(And I feel like being an asshole) are two totally different things.

It is clear that according to the Bible, God allows the killing of an unborn child..if the mother of the child is pregant due to unfaithfulness to her husband.

No, a person with a distinct viewpoint believes that life begins at conception.

You're confusing human life with human personhood. Biologically, a new human life begins at conception.

no, biologically speaking....human life actually has no beginning point...except for when the first human stood up and became a homo-sapien.

The one not from Genesis you mean.

Just admit you wrong and stop drying to spin this.

Really, this doesn't kick off the OP?

Genesis 2:7 "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrilsthe breath of life; and man became a living being." The first human life did not begin with the first two particles of dust that God assembled. It didn't even begin when all of the particles of dust were assembled. It began with the first breath.

You're conflating the species with an individual, of course.

We're not talking about logic, we're talking about religion.

Regardless, the fact remains. The Bible does not actually define precisely when an individual human life begins. Either at conception or at birth. The Bible does indicate that the unborn child is a person, though, in that it says that God knows us in the womb. Does that mean from conception on? Perhaps not, but it rules out "at birth".

Yes it does, right in the first book, Genesis:

Genesis 2:7 "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrilsthe breath of life; and man became a living being." Life begins with first breath.

Biologically, no. A zygote is formed at conception.

Genesis 2:7 "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrilsthe breath of life; and man became a living being." Life begins with first breath.
That is only true for Adam. Adam was created differently from all those who followed him.

That is talking about the first man...not the men that followed.
