Yeah, that's why they lie, cheat, steal, murder each other, molest and kill children...shall I go on? I used to belive that lie, too. The evidence screams to the contrary.

2000 years after He walked on earth in the flesh, many are still in denial about Jesus being the Christ .... so it is no wonder the most all the world adamantly denies who the supreme Beast is when they are told.

The Great Whore and the two Beast of Revelation 13 are famous. The Great Whore is in plain sight. The subordinate Beast of Rev 13 is a famous living old man.

Revelation 17 connects the supreme Beast with the Great Whore. That is a great clue as to the identity of the supreme Beast.

Since so many cannot see (or won't admit seeing) who the Great Whore is, it is no wonder so few can see who the supreme Beast is, because the supreme Beast is currently out of sight .... thought to be dead.

Following was true way 'back in the day' .... and just as true today:

5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be told you. Habakkuk 1:5
 
Simply put...the beast consists of all world powers that have appeared on the worldly scene...most of those have come and gone...the last is still standing...temporarily...

The Whore consists of all false religions...

One and only one of the false religions actually fits the Great Whore description.
 
To me, it's talking about how atheism evolves along with our secular education system. Our education system is the battlefield where Satan has made use to fight God. It's the same Tree of Knowledge in Eden causing "the same day you eat of it, the same day you shall surely die".

Today's education is basically English cored. The beast from the sea is England which is the location where our education system began. The second beast is the US. It is thus like a lamb (a Christian country) but a wolf (adapting a God-fighting education system since everyone childhood). The US delivered/continued the English education system from the first beast and dominated this world, as education in today's world is the exactly the same secular style for atheism to grow. English is more of an island country (from sea) while the US is a continent (from earth).

Cannot buy and sell refers to how we have to rely on education in order to live in the society. No one can make an exception in terms of secular education which actually determines how we are going to make a living. 666 basically represents gold or currency, it is said that the 666th name appeared in the Bible happens to be Solomon. Anyway, 666 represents Washington which is the name of the beast (US). US dollar is representative of today's currency while Washington is the image of the beast. You can't buy and sell can thus also refer to currency (with Washington representative as its image).

Right hand (behavior) and forehead (mind) refer to an ancient Jewish custom of tying Bible verses in hands and forehead as a symbol of being led by God. The mark in the right hand and forehead means people's mind and behavior are governed not by God but a result of the secular education. They have the spirit to fight God.

It's many fold prophecy anyway, basically saying how the US acts as a successor of the Great England in terms of building a secular education system for atheism to grow to fight God. Everyone will have to be forced into this system ever since childhood to deliver the mark of fighting God. Only Christians (whose names are in the Lamb's Book of Life) can make a difference.

Okay, so I've read through this thread. I'm not getting who the supreme Beast is. If you can, in non-nebulous terms, tell me who ithe Beast is, I will not adamantly deny his existence. Thank you.

But John Prewett (above) seems to indicate that the beast is a supposedly dead person, who is not really dead at all.....not a world power.

More confusion for me.
John Prewett, as an example, indicates the whore is an actual person...I think.
You seem to say that the Whore is much more than one person.....a sort of amalgam of all non-christian religions.

The first beast will have 10 horns and 7 heads. It will look like a leopard, but with the feet of a bear, and the mouth of a lion. Oh, and it'll have a nasty scar on one of its heads. It will be given power over every person on the planet.

I see no sign, based on reading Revelations, that its author meant it in a metaphorical sense.

I'm pretty sure that when it shows up, you won't miss it.

I don't think so.....I, for one, think that nasty scar on the head will be very off-putting.......even on a creature/beast with 6 other heads.
Would you put yourself in the hands of a hideous creature who disregards such a gross scar?
I think not.
Plastic surgery might help.
I'm pretty certain those bear feet are just fluffy slippers to keep his feet warm.

And then you have the seventh world power...Britain...and by extension, the United States...grew out of the Roman Empire...they are described as an amalgam of iron and clay...Daniel 2:41-43...this description coincides with the time when the seventh head...the Anglo-American World Power would come to prominence...just as an iron structure mixed with clay is weaker than solid iron, so too the Anglo-American World Power is weaker than the power from which it emerged...

Revelation is a vision and not meant to be taken literally...it is a representation...

So, Revelations is intended to be open to interpretation.
I'm not saying that is a bad thing.
I would say that some of the interpretations arrived at by individuals reveals much about themselves.:)

I don't think so...Revelation is only one piece of a great puzzle and it fits together with all the other pieces...all the books of the Bible...
