When Christianity goes bad.

Who has been accused by whom of grabbing their *****?

Kristin Anderson was deep in conversation with acquaintances at a crowded Manhattan nightspot and did not notice the figure to her right on a red velvet couch — until, she recalls, his fingers slid under her miniskirt, moved up her inner thigh and touched her vagina through her underwear.

Anderson shoved the hand away, fled the couch and turned to take her first good look at the man who had touched her, she said.

She recognized him as Donald Trump: “He was so distinctive looking — with the hair and the eyebrows. I mean, nobody else has those eyebrows.”

At the time of the incident, which Anderson said took place in the early 1990s, she was in her early 20s, trying to make it as a model.

Hard to disagree with this.

This disease, this way of looking at all life, and the planet, rolled out over the tribes of Europe first. We are all the decedents of tribes and a spiritual perceptual reality of the universe and the creator. That memory has been wiped out of american white consciousness pretty much, their enslavement having happened long before the disease rolled out across the rest of the planet via colonialism and proselytizing.

That perceptual reality was replaced with a male dominator god perceptual reality which gave rise to the notion that this male dominator god gave mankind, only the “chosen ones” mind you, dominion over the natural world, the planet, anything they “discovered”, and any other human beings they could manage to whip into consent. So you bring that into a technological perceptual reality era where we are now, and we’ve all been enslaved to/by an economic system that has no other purpose than to continue the colonialization of all human beings, further redistributing and concentrating wealth into the pockets of fewer and fewer, much of that wealth coming from the natural world that was in place long before the humans who manipulate it into their own hands. In the same manner the system mines uranium or coal or gold, it also mines the energy, spirit, and soul of the human being to run these authoritarian systems that enslave us all. In essence, they mine the being part of the human being. Think about your own experiences in the corporate world if you have them.

And so all of this racism, classism, sexism, religion, et.al. arises from the system’s need to keep the masses quibbling amongst themselves. The same applies to the american political system; it is designed to prevent any gathering of the masses against the aristocracy. It’s an illusion, this democracy and liberty. You have ostensibly “two” political parties who very comfortably don’t really have to do anything at all except point at the “other” party and with your consent present them as evil and scary; disconnected from what? Well, they’re not “real” americans like you and they don’t bow as deeply to the male dominator god as you do. Again, go back and look at Bacon’s Rebellion and the aftermath. The power structure learned that lesson very well. The system also learned very well from the 60-70s / the Viet Nam War / Civil Rights era, the last large scale questioning of our authoritarian system. The beast is bigger and stronger now.

It’s useful for all of us to go back and study our tribal ancestry, go dig into how they got “civilized”, invariably, it was anything but civil, that’s the great lie, it was very brutal stuff, they had to be brutalized into “accepting” the proper perceptual reality, and thus consent. And so now that the colonialism has become globalism, the power structure no longer has any national affiliations at all. That’s for YOU to hold onto, again, because it will feed into the unsubstantial people’s fighting amongst themselves so the system doesn’t have to, and so that the unsubstantial people will line up to go to war and die in endless wars over resources and turf someone else sits on that the system covets. It’s really no different than the manner in which any street gang goes after turf.

We have been with our own consent and participation indoctrinated into submission, consent, and acceptance of this authoritarian system that runs on our energy and labor just as surely as we’ve all been indoctrinated into hating and distrusting the only possible allies we have in this authoritarian system.

The hour is late, the vote is meaningless, police departments have been militarized, and we’re all on the menu. All humanity needs to do is simply align across imaginary indoctrinated lines and withdraw consent. That’s where the power is, they have no power, all they have is authority, and they realize that is only an illusion too. That’s why they need force to hold it all together.

I call it the agricultural male god. But, yeah. I get your point.

Aren't we supposed to keep our religion out of politics?

No. We're just not supposed to insist that other people use our religious reference in their politics. They get to use their own. Just like us.

I guess I'm not sure it coincided with the advent of agriculture everywhere. I mean there was agriculture in the americas long before euro christianity, but once it arrived, Columbus' first thought was enslavement of the Taino.

On behalf of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain, he claimed the land and the people for Spain, conveniently ignoring native government and native ownership of the land.

The population of the Americas in 1492 is estimated to be 100 million, as compared with 70 million in Europe.

Europeans were not known for their religious tolerance. The day before Columbus left Spain, all of the Jews in Spain were required to leave. During the time that Columbus was preparing for his voyage, an estimated 30,000 Spanish Jews were burned at the stake for their failure to convert to Catholicism.

The Taíno were the first Native Americans to encounter the Spanish. Columbus recorded in his diary that the natives “would easily be made Christians because it seemed to me that they had no religion.”

Papal Bulls of the 1500s continued to further the agenda.

Actually, I'm sure Christians did elect Obama. They just weren't the same ones that elected Trump. Christians aren't a monolith.

That's why the thread is titled "When Christianity goes bad".
It doesn't go bad for all Christians, any more than Islam goes bad for all Muslims, etc.
But it does go bad, and we've entered an age of collective hallucination where a large segment of Christianity has turned into a kind of Christian Taliban identity.

The indigenous Americans did some whacked out crap for their agricultural gods too. That pyramid of blood sacrifices in Mexico being a prime example.

It goes bad when people leave the values and teaching of the church when they elect a evil, cruel Godless pagan as their leader. You can't claim in the same voice to be Christian while your supporting this monster. If you chose his message of hate over the message of God then in your next sentence proclaiming your a christian. Is a lie. Don't respond with he is a Christian or he is anti abortion or even the rights golden rule , guns everywhere. He is in no way a Christian, he is his only God ,he is pro abortion and he cares nothing about guns unless he can somehow make a profit out of it.
The fact is these Christians bought into this insane man because of his hate messages, just like anyone else who voted for him.

I'm a strong Christian and I utterly despise Trump...and anyone who claims to be Christian who supports Trump falls under one of these four categories:

1 - they never really took time to understand who and what Trump really is and what he stands for, or
2 - their politics (or racial attitudes) are more important to them then their religion, or
3 - they do not understand Christ's teachings, or
4 - thanks to Fox News and the right-wing media, they actually thought that Hillary was more of an existential threat to our democracy than Trump is.

No denying, but they did not take over the world, or try to.

No wheel or capability to sail the seven seas. Otherwise?

I don't see it, sorry. Christianity stated flat out it was waging a war for the souls of the "godless" healthens. Pretty explicit.

no matter if one believes in religion, or not, IMO all religion should be kept out of politics & all politics should be kept out of religion.

IMO people that mix the two are setting themselves up for disappointment .............. among other bull**** ...............

the concept should be obvious by observing how ****ed up the GOP is with the religious right crap, which make the religious right look like a bunch of Satanists, considering they are in league with the GOP ................... it is very ugly & IMO Jesus would not approve ............

Because you're better than those Christians?

Edit: To be clear I do not think you believe that, but looking throughout biblical history God has worked through many very flawed leaders.

I don't believe God works through Roy Moore. I'm sorry, but I don't. I don't believe he works through Donald Trump, either.

Well said, but I want you to please acknowledge which party it was that responded more positively overall to that "last large scale questioning of our authoritarian system".
I grant you everything you said, that it has value and much validity, however the moment one says that the vote is meaningless, the party with a more draconian bent CAN AND WILL seize upon that apathy and leverage it to lock the yoke we wear and tighten the screws.

Political parties get retooled all the time, throughout history, indeed throughout our own modern era.
We have an opportunity to do with our own liberal party what the Tea Party did with the GOP, if we do not waste it.
If we do waste that opportunity we may not get another one in this generation.

The vote may not matter as much as we'd all like it to matter but it does matter. Elections have consequences, because if they didn't, wealthy authoritarians wouldn't be pouring BILLIONS into making sure their vote mattered and ours did not.

Couple facts. A.) You nor I have any power to determine who a christian is. B.) A person claiming the christian identifier doesn't mean they represent christianity. C.) Since something like 70+ percent of the country claim the christian identity by your logic christian have elected all of our presidents.

Man if you have any intellectual and honest reasoning ability you now realize how amazingly stupid your post was and how bad it just got exposed. ;)

Are you God? If not, then don't worry about what I do. I don't live for you. I live for Him.

Sincerely confused. Did you not express some "worry" over other Christians you disagreed with? Is it judgment or acceptance you're advocating here?

Aren't we supposed to keep our religion out of politics?

Religion is like a penis.
It's wonderful that you have one.
It's even wonderful that you're proud of yours.
But please don't go whipping it out and shaking it around in public,
and don't ever dare to try shoving it down my throat.

The most reliable thing about people is that you can always find out bad stuff about them.

Yeah, I'm so over this concept of "the noble savages" whose wisdom was supposedly superior to everyone else's.
Humanity shares the same glory and the same perfidy alike.
