I think the point was the guy's hypocrisy.

He's a vocal anti-LGBT crusader.

And he apparently got caught having sex in his office with a guy.

Absolutely amazing.

I can't help but wonder if some men feel some type of psychological guilt or turmoil over their homosexual desires? This bash them in public, and sleep with them in private, seems to not be uncommon in conservative circles.

How else can you explain this stuff?

I am so damned sick of this ridiculous partisan hackery. What party did he belong to? What color was he? What’s his religion?

No one party, religion, race, etc., has a lock on scumbaggery. They come in all shapes and sizes. Believe in many God’s. And are a rainbow of colors.

The point here is that he made it a feature of his politics and spoken beliefs to be anti-gay, and Republicans are the party that caters to that type of individual, and suddenly it turns out he's got a real taste for hot man-lovin'.

IOW, utter, rank and undenialbe hypocrisy.

Had he just admitted to himself and the public that he was gay, and not acted politically against the equal rights for gays, this wouldn't be a big issue.

If you can see or accept that, it's not my problem.

The hypocrisy is in his vehement public position as a representative opposed to his personal life. Party, and anything else you mentioned, doesn't matter.

I was pointing out his hypocrisy. He is gay in private and anti gay in public.

That would only be hypocrisy if they passed laws that favored the rich over the middle class, such as tax cuts for the wealthy fueled by tax increases to the middle class.

I disagree.. mainly because I am middle class, and I don't see why my taxes should go up so you can get a tax cut.

I don't see why the rich should subsidize citizenship benefits for others. as long as too many people don't get the proper feedback as to the cost of government, they keep clamoring for more
