Roy Moore: MUSLIM ELLISON SHOULD NOT SIT IN CONGRESS

We are a Judaeo - Christian nation. That's why we aren't a Muslim rat hole, and women have rights. We can reduce the chances of religious wars in our borders by sticking to our base religions.

we are a secular nation with lots of Christians in it we can reduce the chances of religious wars by keeping are laws and religions separate and leaving any one to practice whatever faith they choose in peace so long as they do the same

I do love quoting rightie nut jobs, actually I enjoy finding quotes from any nut jobs - right, left or just those too woo-minded to be categorised as left or right.

from the ever reliable World News Daily, a 2006 essay by Senate candidate Roy Moore

11 years later and it seems Representative Ellison has done his job as a representative of the people in his district - they have re-elected him four times.

Roy Moore, now as a Senate candidate, is trying to deny he ever thought Keith Ellison was ineligible for Congress. Moore, who said Muslim shouldn't serve, now opposes 'religious test'. If you think Muslims should be prohibited from holding office, as Moore plainly stated, that is, quite obviously, a religious test that is forbidden by the Constitution.

When the President nominates for the federal bench, people who have said/written that the Bible precedes US law and the Constitution or argued that sanctioning same-sex marriage would lead to polygamy and bestiality one might begin to wonder about who he is relying upon for suggestions.

The Bible over Constitution lady was confirmed to the 7th Circuit bench by a 55-43 vote and he is under consideration.

He forgot to mention that the Quran Ellison swore in on belonged to Thomas Jefferson.

Ellison was one of my representitives, when I was living in Minnesota. I voted for him each time. He has been very clear and decisive in action that his faith does not take presendence over his elected office (which I wish more Christians would do), and he has served the district honorably and in precisely the manner that the political mind of the area would have him do so.

I am proud to have been one of the voters who saw him become not just America's first Muslim in Congress, but a good representitive for the district, period.

Moore could never hope to be half as worthwhile.

Politicians should swear their oaths of office with their hands on the Constitution, not on a religious tome.

And they should do it without having fingers crossed behind their backs.

but that's just my opinion.
